I hit my alarm clock to turn it off. I love my alarm clock; it plays my favorite song from The Little Mermaid. On a regular day I would just wake up whenever I wanted to; but I have to go places today. First I have to go to the playground to meet up with Cindy, my best friend in the whole entire world. Then I have to go to the ice cream parlor to meet Tracy, my other best friend in the whole wide world. Then I have to go to the zoo so my pony, Apples, can meet her best friend, Peaches. Yeah, today is real busy.
I got out of my bed and went over to my closet. I looked at the computer screen that sat next to my closet and typed in the word purple. My closet doors opened and hundreds of matching, purple, outfits, appeared. I looked long and hard, and then I picked out my favorite one. A dress with a satin ribbon around the waist, big, puffy sleeves, and a full skirt that fell right above my knees. It was covered with purple lace. I looked in my full-length mirror. I looked perfect. The shade of lavender in the dress made my golden locks look so pretty that I wondered if people would ask me if I had gotten a haircut. I ran downstairs to get some breakfast.
I opened the door to my kitchen where I saw my mom quietly setting the table. I sat down at the table and asked for my breakfast. My mom put a platter in front of me and a goblet of grape juice. The platter had on it several waffles that were suffocating in syrup. My mother asked me if I would like anything else with my breakfast. I told her that I would like another goblet of juice. This time I wanted apple juice instead of grape juice.
My mom never ever says much. She just asks me what I want or asks me if Im happy enough. But thats what all adults do. Kids are in charge around here, and my mom isnt a kid. I like having someone do everything for me, but one day Im gonna have to be the one who does everything for someone else. But thats not until Im an adult, and Im only five years old right now. Im trying not to think about growing up.
I finished my breakfast and walked outside to my pony, Apples, who was patiently waiting for me under a tree. I love Apples, she is my favorite color, pink. I ran up my driveway and opened to big, steel gates that lead into the roadway, and headed straight for the playground. Yeah, today was going to be a busy day.
