“Teacher”            I know Ill never reach this far without the help of my teachers. I do believe that they shape my character in a lot of ways since I was still a kid who was confused about her surroundings. My past teachers were the ones who taught me how to develop a sense of independence.          I still remember that moment when I cried a lot because my parents left me at school. I was crying the whole time until the end of class. Although my teacher had been coaxing me that everything will turn out just fine, I still found it hard to trust other people but my family. I was an introvert and easily got shy, reason why I never talked too much in front of the public. It took my teacher a lot of days to make me speak in class. Honestly she kind of looked strict for me that was why I became hesitant to approach her. One time I got sick in class. I vomited all over my desk gaining the attention of my classmates. I can still hear the chorusing gasps around me. It was a horrible memory. And what truly broke my heart that day was the fact that my teachers face looks disgusted. She had sought for my sisters help who was an upper year but since she was taking her exam, my teacher then resorted in calling a faculty member. Later then I was assisted to the clinic. That moment was so vivid for me because I cried so hard thinking that my adviser did not care about me at all. But it was also the time when I got to meet my angel, who was the other faculty member. She was so kind and mother like, I never felt at ease with a strangers presence until I met her. From then on, I started to give my trust to other people.             During my grade school years, I became more confident. I made new friends and began to speak more in class. Years passed, my teachers trained and gave me various opportunities for extra credit. I became an editorial cartoonist, school officer, salutatorian and more. Id never get those achievements without the help of the people who gave their time in assisting and training me. Ill never forget those people who believe in what I can do, in me.           My high school years however are the greatest times of my life as a student. I got to learn new things that are applicable in daily living. Since it was a new school for me, specifically a Catholic school, I found it more challenging to adapt. The teachers were stricter about punctuality and excellence. Nonetheless I know it helped me in a lot of ways. I became more competitive. I always made it my goal to be an honor student, one who appreciates and internalizes the knowledge shared by their teachers. What made high school more memorable for me was the happiness I got from my classmates and teachers. They encouraged me to be what I am today. My high school teachers not only taught me academic related stuff but they also gave me the inspiration to embrace my faults and to never give up on my dreams. Im the kind of person who will choose to stay in the house rather than to go outside and have fun. But whenever I was with my high school teachers, I felt at home.            In college, however I learned the importance of knowing how to stand alone. The teachers this time practice us students on how to face the future. I have greater respect for my teachers now. I am truly amazed of their abilities this is why I look up to them all the time. Although sometimes I feel like they never give empathy to students, I think it challenges us more to do things better individually.          Teachers are our second parents that I believe. In fact we students spend most of our time both at home and in school. When we are away from our home, teachers ought to protect and guide us in place of our family. I will forever be thankful to them. Truthfully speaking when I started reflecting on my past teachers, all the bad memories came first before the good ones. I think that its also good that all the teachers should consider learning from their students as well. Both parties should be open-minded. The word teacher for me now means that anyone could be one. Its not just a profession; it pertains to the ability of a man to share what he knows and feels to others.
