Can you think of other industry groups in the United States or abroad? An industry cluster involves a group of companies that maintains its competitive advantage in their production by capitalizing on the availability of skilled employees and constant innovation through the use of modern technology. In pure agglomeration model in the industrial cluster, firms will have the inter-firm relations. Stiff market competition observed since there is no market power in the industry. It leads to a continuous shift in relations between organizations and customers with the aim increasing the market share. Also, rental payments and its constant appreciation observed in various cities (Bergsman, Greenston 1972).However, long-term stability in relation and a more predictable relationship among firms especially in steel and chemical organizations in a trait industrial complex. In the industrial complex, the company engages in long-term investments in physical capital and real estates in the locals thus, exists and entrance is highly restricted by the costs involved. Apparently, rental appreciation is not applicable in this feature as the firm owns the land (Weber, 1909). Lastly, in the social network type of industrial cluster, the features are based on the hierarchies models (Williamson, 1975). The model argues that there should be mutual trust and honesty between the strategic decision-making agents in organizations. Also, the relationships among the firms observed in features such as joint ventures, joint lobbying, information alliances, and reciprocal arrangements regarding business relationships. History and experience in mutual trust between the decisions making agents will determine whether to enter into the industrial cluster. In this model, membership is partially open as the guarantee of access is independent on rental payments even though chances of entry are improved. Industrial clusters in the US and abroadThe US government has since implemented the US and Mexican Software industries such as the Silicon Valley and Route 128. However, India and Ireland has seriously come to challenge the software by offering the offshore programming platforms. Besides, the Mexican software industry is an obstacle to the development of the US old software clusters. The US has survived because of the developed IT infrastructure and workers knowledge and skills, especially in Caribbean and Central America countries.
