Animal Testing the Horrific Truth About Scientific Research
Animal Testing the Horrific Truth about Scientific ResearchBusiness and Professional writing5/17/2015Dogs, stolen pets from people, tied up and masks put over their noses, forcing them to inhale potential harmful fumes which is getting them sick or might even kill them and rats placed in a swimming pool, with a wire net placed over their body that there is no way to escape, slowly forcing them under water for 30 seconds at a time just to create an experience of “underwater trauma.” A young capuchin monkey is tied up and clamped down so that he cannot move at all, neither his head nor anything else, at the same moment gases are pumped into his lungs, which puts him under tremendous pain and eventually kill the monkey at the end. This is called animal testing. These are the horrific and disturbing scenes, which upset every animal lover and raise serious questions about whether scientists caused unnecessary suffering in the name of medical as well as cosmetic research. According to the Humane Society, it cost more than 50 experiments and the use of as many as 12,000 animals for the registration of a single pesticide. Alone in US labs over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused every year. China writes even higher numbers because all cosmetic products are required by law to be tested on animals before they can go out for sale. Which mean that any cosmetic company no matter where they are located must have their product tested on animals if they want to distribute their product in china. But not only in china also in the United States as well as in Europe certain products like mosquito repellent, which helps protect people from malaria and other dangerous illnesses, must undergo toxicological testing which involves animal testing.
Animal testing needs to stop not only for ethical reasons, also for our own safety because animal testing comes with many safety issues. Animal experiments should never be accepted in any society, it is cruel, immoral and there is no guarantee if the medication tested on an animal will be safe or even work on a human body. With this research paper I’m reaching out to every consumer to think twice about what products they want to buy and if it’s not worth it to check if a product has been tested on animals. To stop buying products tested on animals, and help put an end to animal testing. What does animal testing even mean? Animal tests are scientific experiments on animals to test the safety of cosmetics and drugs for humans as well as testing new surgical procedures like cutting off a head of a monkey and sewing it back on. The animal is subjected to horrible unsafe products and experiments. When an animal is a test object it undergoes tremendous pain and suffering and in most cases it eventually dies from the multiple tests performed on it. The range of animals that is being tested on is wide; from specially bred chemically altered animals, pound animals, random animals off the street to people’s pets stolen and are traded through a market.
