Romeo and Juliet Blame Essay
Throughout time, there have been many tragedies caused by romance. Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, is known for its romantic tragedy between two star-crossed lovers. During this time the play took place in Verona, Italy during the late 1500s. Romeo and Juliet the âstar crossed loversâ seem to be doomed the first day they meet each other. In the beginning Romeo is heartbroken over Rosaline and seems to believe he will not ever fall in love again. Romeo is told about the Capulet party, not being so sure if he should go Mercutio says, âWe must have you danceâ. After being talked into going to the party Romeo then meets Juliet which he fell in love at first-sight. Although, the two loverâs families are arch enemies, and hate each other Romeo and Juliet then end up getting married. Tybalt which is Julietâs cousin realized at the party that Romeo was there by the sound of his voice, he then sent a letter demanding to draw. During this draw Tybalt accidentally killed Romeo, Romeo then goes after Tybalt and kills him out of rage, causing him to get banishment. The characters Tybalt, Friar Lawrence, and Mercutio are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet
The first character to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is Tybalt. One reason Tybalt is to blame, is because when Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeoâs immediate reaction, is to hurt Tybalt so he killed Tybalt out of rage. Benvolio says â But by and by comes back Romeo, who had but newly entertained revenge, And as he fell, did Romeo turn and fly.â (111.1.168-169). Benvolio is saying maybe, if Tybalt would not have killed Mercutio, even if it was an accident, or if there was no draw at all Romeo would not have wanted to seek revenge. The way it proves that it proves that itâs Tybaltâs fault because he started the brawl, and ended up killing Mercutio. Another reason Tybalt is to blame is because he sent a letter pretty much demanding to brawl. Tybalt says â Boy, this shall not excuse the
