Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
The Human Resource information systems which are currently being used by Riordan Manufacturing is part of a financial systems package installed in 2002. The system that is currently in use by Riordan Manufacturing keeps track of all employee information which includes their personal information, pay rate, personal exemptions for tax purposes, and hire date, just to name a few. If any information needs to be changed, any changes must be presented in writing on special forms from the employee’s supervisor and then those changes are entered by the fiscal clerk (University of Phoenix website, 2012).
The Human Resources Training specialist uses an Excel spread sheet to keep employee training and development records. Applicant and Appointee information for all company open positions are kept by each human resources specialist all applicants and Appointee resumes are kept in a central storage area located in the basement of building 1 and recruiters keep a spreadsheet to track the applicant Appointee status. In the case of this system request, I would like to have a staff meeting with all section chiefs to talk about the delivery and outcomes. The systems planning and selection of the SDLC, it states that the major outcomes and deliverables from project start time and planning are the Baseline Project Plan and the Project Scope Statement.
The Riordan Manufacturing human resources information system project is a bold project to get Riordan Manufacturing and its HRIS upgraded, outsourced payroll processing, and Excel spreadsheets. The project will integrate multiple manual processes into an intuitive interface system that will give riordan a more efficient experience to its human resources department.
