From the past, people use different kinds of machines to make their work easy. With the time machine has now become a part human life. This is the basic concept behind the Cyborg Technology.
“Cyborg”, a term that reflects the man-machine co-existence and which refers to a being with both biological and artificial values. The term is also used to address human-technology mixtures in the abstract. Under the primary stage of the Cyborg technology all mankind can be identified as Cyborgs because of there are artifacts which are not directly identified as technologies such as pen, pencil, paper and which are useful for habitual actions of human being in order to ease their actions.
The involvement of the Cyborg technology for medicine can be noticed as a result of humans suffers due to different types of disabilities in sight, hearing etc. On that case scientists and doctors expect help from machines to get rid of those disabilities. They bring a solution for that problem by attaching such things as contact lenses, hearing aids, or intraocular lenses in order to overcome disabilities. Also wooden legs were a fundamental solution for the disability.
Cyborg Technology is also has become a solution to some issues on military. But still they are in experimental level. Among these researches the project on “Cyborg Insect” hold significant value as it has being succeeded for considerable extend.
Though the concept of Cyborg Technology is associated with science fictions it is amazing to see that many artists have tried to create public awareness of cybernetic organisms; these can range from paintings to installations. Machines are becoming more ubiquitous in the artistic process itself, with computerized drawing pads replacing pen and paper, and drum machines becoming nearly as popular as human drummers.
In below sections of this proposal contains the background of cyborg technology, what is the motivation to study about it, in background and motivation section. Then there is a description about cyborg technology. After that aim and objectives and intended outcome of this study. Finally resource requirements and references are there
2. Background & Motivation
Background of Cyborg Technology
When look in to the history there are many more researches that can be found in the area of Cyborg. Among those several hold significance value as the contribution of those to the future enhancements of cyborgization. The term was coined in 1960 when Manfred Clynes and Nathan Kline used it in an article about the advantages of self-regulating human-machine systems in outer space. The 1970s television series The Six Million Dollar Man featured one of the most famous fictional cyborgs, referred to as a bionic man. Cyborgs in fiction often play up a human contempt for over-dependence on technology, particularly when used for war, and when used in ways that seem to threaten free will. Cyborgs are also often portrayed with physical or mental abilities far exceeding a human counterpart.
The term “Cyborg” emphasizes the relationship between organic and technology. In fictions it gives the idea of Cyborg as gathering of synthetic and organic parts. In some fictions examples it has introduced the Cyborg as over dependant on technologies, so that cant be clearly distinguished from the human being.
Motivation towards the Cyborg Technology
If there are no co-existence between human and machines still people have to suffer from different types of disabilities. Now it has revealed that Cyborg isnt only for addressing the inabilities of the human body but for advancement for human functionalities. As a result it has drawn attention to making sophisticated equipments which serve human being to boost up their capabilities. So it has showed positive and predictable signs in Cyborg Technology towards to the enhancements of the Artificial Intelligence too.
