Preface:- Authors purpose of writing the book “Life and work of B R Ambedkar” is to focus on the glimpse of B R Ambedkars life and his achievements.
Review:- S R Sharma had tried to describe the role and thinking of B.R.Ambedkar in Indian social revolution, reform movement, theory of political power and resistance, his political mobilization for scheduled castes, his economic ideology and at last about his vision and contribution toward the constitution of India. Along with all these author also shows the relation and work of B.R.Ambedkar with other personalities like Maharshi V.R.Shinde and Mahatma Gandhi toward the welfare of India.
In book author had rightly said that Dr. B.R.Ambedkar was born as untouchable and subjected to many inequalities and exploitations in his early life. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar through sincere endeavour hard work and firm determination rose to the status of great man and emancipator and Messiah of the downtrodden. Author pointed out how this achievement and transformation of DR. B.R.Ambedkar came can be better known through studying life and works of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Since 1954-55Ambedkar was suffering from serious health problems including diabetes and weak eyesight. On 6 December, 1956 he died at his home in Delhi. Since, Ambedkar adopted the Buddhism as his religion, a Buddhist-style cremation was organized for him. The ceremony was attended by hundreds of thousands of supporters, activists and admirers. Studying life and works of great men enables me to know the circumstances which needs and qualities that shaped the life of these men to attain the status of being great. As such the study proves that a great source of inspiration for the present as well as upcoming generations. Towards this aim the present book Life and Works of B.R. Ambedkar brings to the fore complete life history concepts philosophies views achievements and improvements that this great son of India has provided to Indians in particular and humanity in general.
