PSY 480Tiffany PaynterOn the subject of mind control, there are certain theories that are undoubtedly true. On the other hand, there are theories that I believe are just too radical- like Disney using mind control to program child stars. We have proof that operations like Project Artichoke and Project MKULTRA took place in the United States. While large operations like the previous happen infrequently, small-scale mind control happens to us everyday through television, advertisements, commercials, and propaganda.
The CIA conducted Project MKULTRA on employees, government officials, test subjects, and random citizens. The participants- both voluntary and involuntary- were administered drugs, put under hypnosis, and subjected to sensory deprivation. The most common form of torture used in the experiment was to administer a drug to an involuntary participant. The participant would be given a dose of LSD, marijuana, psilocybin, heroin, or amphetamines then observed for several hours. Some test subjects were administered drugs, forced to sit under bright lights, then answer questions about working for the enemy during the Cold War.
