Religion and War
Religion and War
In my opinion, religion does not cause war. What causes war is religion standing against economic interests. It is not the fact that mid-eastern countries do not want to adhere to occidental ways of life that causes war, but the fact that this denial keeps the occident from doing business with them as they please.
I believe that if it is not lucrative enough, a war is not waged. Even if a war happens without prior economic interests, these lucrative war and post war investments kick in as soon as the first bullet is fired, even a little before. It is the highest interest of weapon manufacturers that people make war. They will (as they do) support the government that best allows them to profit the most out of people’s death.
Another industry of corpses are the great so-called humanitarian rebuilding efforts made by the building enterprises in war zones. Paid “fairly” by the newly installed governments, enterprises of the country that destroyed people’s houses rebuild them. And there you have another of the greatest supporters of war-based politics.
These two are the cornerstones of war especially in the United States, but we could think about the Haiti situation too. Is Brazil doing any humanitarian work sending soldiers with bombs, and engineers with blueprints? The way I see it, this is a way to be paid on both ends, and still get a good position in ONU as the good people of South America.
As about religion, they are mostly a reason to profit. It works really well on people’s minds, mainly on greatly religious countries. When you look back in history, since the early beginnings of capitalism coexistence with religious beliefs, religion has been a background to most of the high profiting war movements.
Behind the bank accounts filled by wars, or better, hiding them from the public eye, there must always be a veil. Religion is one of them. Generally, they are ideologies,
