Although Dracula states that life has no meaning, his actions seem to show he believes otherwise. He is constantly feasting on the blood of others, more specifically the living. He does this in order to give meaning to his life and help give meaning to the life of others. By turning others into vampires, he is giving their life meaning. When one dies, there life doesnt mean anything anymore. Because Dracula gives others eternal and everlasting lives, they now have meaning again. Dracula is always aspiring to survive.

During the play, Dracula purchases a brand new house to live in. If it wasnt for the fact that he wanted to be like the living, he wouldnt have purchased this house. He also purchases the house so he can be closer to the living. This would give him more victims for bloodsucking. Throughout the play, we also see that Dracula attacks living humans for their blood and plays with them as if they were toys. Taking blood from these living humans and scaring them is what keeps him going and keeps him entertained. If his life had no meaning like he said, then he wouldnt have these urges to attack humans and take blood from them. He would just ignore his urge and live an apathetic and very boring life. One other moment during the play that he proves his life has meaning, is when he meets Mina. He seems to be extremely interested in her and she can even be considered his love. This “love” that he has for her inspires him to go after her and see her more often. He now has a goal in life, and that goal is to get with Mina.

Dracula is not very sure of whom he is or what his purpose
