Jim Skinner was born in 1944 in Illinois, the 21st state of the United States of America. Although Jim did not graduated from any colleges or universities, he had an ability to acquire and broaden his knowledge and apply it in concrete situations through working assiduously and having a sense of high personal responsibility in his employment history. After spending 10 years in serving in the United States Navy, he started his career at Mc Donalds restaurant with the low position as a restaurant manager trainee in 1971in Carpentersville, Illinois. During

his working period, he tried to make his own efforts to contribute the development of Mac Donalds Corporation. Consequently, his performances and achievements were highly appreciated by the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During the period between 1971 and 1992, Jim Skinner was appointed to many various positions in the United States (US) Corporation such as Director of Field Operations, Marketing Manager, Regional Vice President and US Senior Vice President as well as Zone Manager. He undertook the leadership position as Senior Vice President of relationship partner of Mac Donalds Central Europe, Middle East, Africa and India from 1992 to 1995. Prior to becoming the President of Mac Donalds Europe between 1997 and 2001, Jim maintained his responsibility of Executive Vice President of international relationship partner of the countries which were mentioned above during two year period. Afterwards, he held office simultaneously as the President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) positions of Mac Donalds Europe, Asia and Pacific just one year. Jim Skinner was the President of Mac Donalds Restaurant Group during the period between 2002 and 2004; then he became the Vice Chairman with extended corporate management responsibility for Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Mac Donalds Japan Ltd. During the period from 2004 to until the present, he undertakes the responsibility of both Vice Chairman and CEO of Mac Donalds Corporation. In general, Jim Skinner has devoted his almost whole life of 38 years to work with high enthusiastic spirit and strong passion for the development and growth of Mac Donalds Corporation in the fast-food industry worldwide.

According Chief Executive Magazine on 11th May, 2009, Jim Skinner was honored to become “2009 CEO of the Year”, the prestigious award for the most prominent corporate leader in each year.
