Journal 1: pages. 1-26 In this section of reading we begin by being introduced to a six-year-old boy named Ender whom is in process of having his monitor removed. Unlike those around him Ender is having his monitor being taken out at a very late time and this makes him stand out. This is very relatable to me because at school lots of the kids around me are interested volleyball and I do not care much for it, which is why I stand out. As Ender leaves to go to his classes he is rather bored by the teachings and this sets the stage for the genius he features later in the novel. While leaving the schoolyard Ender is also confronted by some of the other schoolboys who have been challenging him for a while. Deciding to end this Ender uses incredible force to crush his enemies and shows no mercy. The reader is then introduced to Enders family and we begin to see the feelings he thinks about each of them. His older brother Peter is cruel and decides to hurt Ender when he hears that Ender got his monitor taken out so late. Peter uses strength and begins to talk insanely slowly crushing Ender. Just then his sister comes to his aid and tells his older brother off. I can relate to this scenario because my cousin would come to my recue when my elder cousin and me were brawling. In my case I felt a sense of relief and made right with the cousin who had done me wrong. In this case Peter does apologize to ender before bed but Ender still fears he is in danger of his brother. The next day at the family breakfast Ender does not eat much as he is thinking to hard about the events that transpired the previous day. I act similarly when I am nervous for a fencing competition. Just then an officer comes to the Wiggins door and explains that Ender is expected to attend Battle School with other geniuses from across Earth. The teacher at battle school is pleased to see how Ender reacted when he was confronted by Stilson and wants to see more of him. Ender is sad to leave his loving sister but knows he must go.
