To understand a culture more clearly, we must examine the basic assumptions and values they believe in and hold.Therefore, based on the dimensions of the assumption, the Malaysian family culture can be divided substantially into two categories, namely society Collectivism and Individualistic.Collectivism people have strong social bonds where people expect others in their group to care for and protect them like in a family.Collectivism people illustrates the close relationship between family members, the public, where the individual is more concerned with the norms and values of the group above personal interests.Individualistic people prefer to act as individuals rather than as a group. Individualistic people closely related to independence, where relationships between individuals tenuous, and more concerned with personal needs above those of others.
