planning a party for your child. A party without proper planning can turn into an utter mess and
can embarrass you before your guests.
The first step in planning a birthday party is to sit down with your child and find out what theme
birthday party he or she wants. The only thing more satisfying than a party in your childs honor is
the sense of pride theyll feel when he/she helps plan it. Then determine if your budget, your
creativity, and your energy can deliver that type of birthday party. If not, scale down. The theme
will also help you with the party supplies, and it will be easier for you to select what you need. The
great thing about childrens birthday parties is that you wont have to worry about every minor
detail. Children will remember what they did at the party and not the colors of the plates and
napkins, so you dont need to sweat over all the tiny details. Dont forget that the birthday party is
for the children and your main purpose is to make the birthday child feel special.
Second, you are ready to pick a date, a place, and a time. The most obvious choice of
locations for your party is, of course, your house. There are many other choices. Most fast food
restaurants, and even some skating rinks, and movie theaters are available for parties, and may
be worth the expense when you realize the time you will save in setting up and cleaning up the
party. Next have your child plan the birthday party guest list with you and encourage limiting
invitations to good friends only. So while drafting your guest list, make sure that you have enough
