Ergogenic Aid
Ergogenic Aid
I chose to do my articles on the ergogenic aid creatine. Creatine is probably the most widely used supplement in both fitness and sports. This aid has been used for many years but developed extreme recognition when used my the home-run hero of many Mark McGuire. Creatine is naturally produced throughout the body and is used to supply energy to the muscles. Creatine is produced in the liver, pancreas, and kidneys then distributed through
the bloodstream. Once it reaches the muscles it is converted into phosphocreatine and assists in the regeneration of energy in the muscles. There are many aids that are illegal, but because creatine is natural it can never be permanently banned. Many foods that carry high levels of creatine are any red meats, tuna, salmon , and herring. Many tests have been done on this supplement with positive results. It has been proved to increase lean muscle mass, increase energy levels, and speed up recovery time.
Considering his has been proven one of the best ergonenic aids, there has been a lot of discussions on the proper way to take it. For those who have not taken it before there is whats called a loading stage. Taken large amounts in order to saturate your muscles normally 20-30 grams a day with water or non acidic juice. Then followed by normal consistent amounts of 5-15 grams. Improvements will be very like after a few weeks. Many often say that with something that has proven results, there are some sort of side affects. This is not the case, many studies have been conducted and have yet to uncover unhealthy side effects. I believe that until they do, creatine will continue to be the most widely used ergogenic aid in both sports and high performance exercise.
