Throughout history empires have repeatedly followed a trend of incline on a steady rise until the point of rapid decline has been reached. When an empire begins to fall, which they don’t foreshadow during their plateau of success, they look for a scapegoat to place all the blame. With the start of an empire it begins to overextend military volume utilizing resources to support those in power. The Empire depends on the production of goods and services, not from one’s own population, but imports from external traders. This leads to a dependence which will slowly put those in power and one’s own population on an accelerated shortcut to ruin. This recurrent theme of empire demise in not only frequent in every other time period in world history text books but around the globe. Robespierre ruined the French Revolution, Ceaser and Augustus ruined the Roman Republic, the gentle and wise ruler Henry VI of England was overthrown by the evil Edward IV and Richard III, Lenin and Trotsky ruined the Russian Revolution, just as Cromwell ruined Parliamentary England. With our nation’s history being such a vital part in what has made our country great it would be extremely beneficial to teach History. Studying the Founding Fathers of America and their motivations and plans for what the Constitution would produce, would better inform to the country leaders in the way it was designed to work. The Trailblazers, Artist, Religious Figures, Presidents along with their First Ladies are just some of the leader that influenced the writing in the textbooks. History is more than just a study of things that occurred in the past. It is also a study of why people make the decisions they make, the principles they apply to their choices, the hoped-for results, and both what the actual results were and the unforeseen consequences that resulted from those decisions. Those who study history in that way, learn great lessons and have the capacity to make better choices by applying the lessons
