Terrorism
Just when you think things could not be any crazier, terrorists fly planes into buildings. This along with countess other terrorist attacks have plagued most parts of the world for centuries. These acts are used to achieve a political goal or to send a message to your enemy, to make yourself heard. Is terrorism ever justified? Terrorism warps peoples views of the issue, helps the opponent, and wrongfully takes the lives of innocent people.

When a terrorist bombs a bus and kills 100 people, he is doing it for a just cause in his eyes. This is a very tough concept for some to grasp. How do you fight an enemy that is willing to die for the cause? The problem is that a terrorist does not attack an army or a nation state, but innocent people that have probably never done anything to hurt him. When you kill people, you make a lot more enemies then you killed. So in turn, a terrorist act enrages people and drives them to take an extreme outlook on the situation. Now people see a Middle Eastern person and reference terrorist when pointing him out.

This shows that people become hateful of those who killed their loved ones, and even if the terrorists are truly fighting for a just cause, the people they have hurt will never forgive or forget. A terrorist attack is simply bringing more problems into their lives, more people against the movement, and more people itching to kill the bad guy. This does not sound like a good plan to me.

Another reason terrorism is unacceptable is that it can backfire and help the opponent of the terrorists. For example, the U.S.A. was attacked by terrorists supposedly from Afghanistan. Within weeks we were occupying parts of that country, searching for the ones who were responsible for the attacks. We nearly wiped out all of the terrorist activities in the country, and set up democratic elections. So saying that the attacks were a success for Al Queda is far fetched. If a country is plagued by terrorism, it may win support from other countries
