Skills acquired
Shms has thought me a lot of skills and has given me a rough idea of how the hotel industry works. Kitchen services during 1st year have shown me how to work in a kitchen under pressure and even how to work with a chef. During 2nd year when I was working for my banquet as the chef I got the opportunity to learn how to lead and command my staff. I got the opportunity to find out from the help of the chefs in shms caux that you cannot be a chef if you know how to cook but also you had to make the list you would need and all the expenses etc.. These few skills I have put to my use during my internship. The kitchen classes I attended during 1st year also helped me to know the basic key terms of a kitchen and the different equipment’s and machines we had to work with. The theory I was thought to from SHMS I have applied to work and this is why my chef really liked the work I was doing.
