The purpose of this paper is to reflect upon my personal experiences ofwith the Ethics Game Simulation and how I evaluated the following questions. What ethical issues were in the simulation? What decision steps did I take to ethically address these issues? What ethical perspective did I use to make those decisions? And how might these concepts from the simulation relate to my workplace?
The ethic issue that was present in my simulation was one of an internal versus external quality standards. During the simulationsimulation, I held the position of a quality control manager for a nutrition and supplements product development company, G-Bio Sport. As the quality control manager I was with an ethic issues concerning the products that was produce at G-Bio Sport. The internal and external issues were whether to sell a product that does not meet the United States safety requirements in a foreign market that has lower safety restrictions and how those standards was be applied and what impact from my decision-making process what how on G-Bio Sport stakeholders.
The decision-making process that I followed was one of customer concerns, public safety and what impact would my decision would have on the company. My first action was to decide how I was to communicate my decision to others in the organization. I wrote an e-mail in which I informed the various stakeholders of the issues. The stakeholders, such as shareholders whom impactaffect would be high, whereas the company has the most to lose or gain from my decision about to do with the out of spec product. The potential consequences include loss of revenue if the product is not sold or negative media attention if the is sold (Ethics Game Simulation, 2010). Onsite management whom impact would be medium to low; the immediate supervisors will almost always be impacted by a decision of this magnitude. However, his or her job is not on the line as a resultbecause of my decision (Ethics Game Simulation, 2010). The customers whom impact would also be medium; customer will certainly be impacted by my decision.
During my decision- processprocess, I unitized the following ethic lenses, relationships, results, rights, and responsibilities. Each lens gave me a the ability to evaluated the ethic, of whether to sell a product that does not meet United States safety requirements in a foreign market that has lower safety restrictions. As the decision makermaker, the lens allows me to see the impact of my decision as it affects others within the company and outside of it. Although I was comfortable making my decisions before completing the simulation, I am how better prepared to make informed decisions within the workplace.
As a production supervisor in a dairy manufacturing facility, I am called upon to make decisions that could put my company a risk and could be very costly, if I do not take the proper action. The
