In post-World War II there was a struggle for influence between the United States and the Soviet Union that led to the Cold War. This incident started after the success of the Allies in defeating Germany in World War II, which then leaves the United States and the Soviet Union as the two superpowers in the world with different ideologies, economic, military.United States formed the NATO military alliance in 1949, while the Soviet Union formed the Pakta Warsawa in 1955. Some countries choose to side with either of these two superpowers, while others chose to remain neutral with establishing Non-Aligned Movement. This incident called the Cold War because both sides have never engaged in direct military action, but each has a nuclear weapon that can cause great destruction.This two superpower is directly involved in the conflict, the two sides compete through military coalition, the spread of the ideology and influence, providing assistance to client countries, espionage, propaganda campaigns massive, nuclear race, attractive neutral countries, competing in the arena international sports, and technology competitions like Space race. The goal is, they want to be number one and became the sole ruler of the world.The impact caused the cold war is very broad and complex, either in relation to aspects of political, economic, social, and cultural. United States and the Soviet Union played a major role in ending World War II appears as a world power. Cold War also led to high tension, which in turn lead to regional military conflicts such as: Blockade of Berlin (1948-1949), Korean War (1950-1953), Suez Crisis (1956), Berlin crisis of 1961, Cuban Missile Crisis (1962), Vietnam War (1959-1975), Yom Kippur War (1973), Afghan War (1979-1989), and shooting Korean Air Lines Flight 007 by Soviet (1983).In 1991 the Soviet Union had collapsed and eventually leaving the United States as the sole dominant military power in the world.
