I have always thought of pursuing masters degree even before I had my bachelors degree, but I was not sure of what major I wanted to pursue. What I was sure of was that some day in my life I would like to own a business and not work for anybody.
After I finished my bachelors degree in business administration, I was looking for job opportunities within the company that I am working for now XXXX
While posting for jobs, I applied for masters in project management at Keller graduate school of management of devry. Reason why I chose project management at that time was simply because a saw a few postings that showed a degree in project management as a plus. Without using critical thinking I was side tracked from what has been my dream of having my own business and work for a company for a little bit more money than what I was currently earning. After interviewing for about two jobs that I did not get, my feedback showed that my degree I was pursuing was limiting me to use those positions as my career path where as, if I was pursuing MBA then the degree would have been perfect for the same positions.
This is where I decided to take a break from school for a few months to think of what I truly wanted to do. My main objective was to advance in my career, work for some time in different positions, in cooperate world, develop leadership skills then after that start my own business. This time I did not want to make mistakes that will waste my time and money. I had several alternatives, some of which was to either not return to school and just work by experience and advance in career by being competent in my job or return to school and pursue MBA.I decided to pursue MBA as my number one solution which was an alternative that will accelerate the path I needed to go to reach my objective. In the process of enrolling for my MBA i decided to evaluate different schools in different prospective like, cost flexibility, credibility and how far I have to travel to attend classes. That is how I ended up transferring to university of phoenix and enrolling in MBA.
I came to realize that during the process of deciding to pursue MBA I was going through empirically derived models of strategic decision making process. The process starts with defining the problem and solution or objective. Then evaluate alternatives, develop feasible solution,
