Dr. Jose Rizal
When he was born on June 19, 1861, no one knew that this person would use pacifist means to establish an important reform. Aside from reading Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, these films are some of the examples why I admire him and his ironic experience of being banished from his own homeland. Even so, he undertook every adversity and predicaments he was constantly facing. According to the quote, as a person, we need to leave a mark so as to not become useless to our own country. I am a supporter of Rizal and due to the literary works about him and some works that he made he’s just continuously making me realize the impact that he has done and how important the life of every Filipino is. These three films are enlightening and give importance to the life works of Rizal. But what most people do not realize is that he was just once a person living without anything to hold on to, so the hope he wants to teach us is unfathomable and probably, even though we know some things about him, it is still just the tip of the iceberg and that what is under the perceivable eye are just seen by the majority but the background and hardships Rizal had to overcome was way more important than what we know and appreciate today. As the generation today, we may have a lot of duties and expectations in our hands already but as we constantly rely on technology, it is our responsibility to instill the further generations about Dr. Jose Rizal and how he affected the minds of revolutionists. There will always be critiques about some person’s achievements and accolades but I still believe that if it wasn’t for Dr. Jose Rizal, we would not be able to see the light that we see today, the education that we currently study and the freedom that we nurture every day.
