Compare and Contrast – Ebih-11 the Superintended of MariEssay Preview: Compare and Contrast – Ebih-11 the Superintended of MariReport this essayCompare and ContrastI will compare and contrast two different ancient art pieces. The first piece is Ebih-11, the Superintended of Mari. This statuette is also a small alabaster statue. The Near Eastern date for this piece of art is 2400 BC circa. The second piece is a Standing Buddha. This mottled red sandstone sculpture is a medium sized. This South Asians date for this piece of art is 321-500 AD circa.
The Ebih-11, the Superintended of Mari is about 0.52m in height; it is a half-naked person sitting on a wicker basket, which is on a square, it also has two other squares one is long ways. Maybe this represents legs and the other is under it. Whereas the Standing Buddha is about 33 11/16 in height, she is standing fully clothed. These two pieces are made out of stone, they both are a human figure and they both represent some kind of religion. Both of these figures are truly different in size, color, what they represent and the different century they came from.
The Ebih-11, the Superintended of Mari is a naturalistic in the body; the chest, the arms and hands, the face like the nose, mouth and eyes. This statue has a belly button so this tells you that the top half has no clothes on. For the bottom, half they use either sheepskin or goatskin as long it simulates some kind of fleece from an animal. This man is bald, and has a beard. The statue has some kind of marking on the back of them letting people know what role the played in society. In the Mari, this means that it was only for men and women were anonymous. They were depicted either as standing or as sitting statue.
The Standing Buddha is a naturalistic in areas of the body; the rounded cheeks, the almond eyes, the full raised lips, the nose that is wide raised. This figure has smooth lines and curves that flow together in a geometric way. Her hair looks like it has little rosebuds then it is pull up in a bun. Her ear lobes are hanging very low with holes in the center. She has a dress that hangs to her ankles. The period was the Gupta period also knows as the Indias Golden Age. “This was a period when literature, art and science flourished. Religious toleration and freedom of worship speaks greatly of the Guptas. The depicting Guptas excellence in architecture and sculpture is what they were known for during this time” (THE GUPTA PERIOD, 2000).
”. The Buddha (as if we were the only one) is seen in the very top half of the figure in silhouette. The figures are very delicate, elegant, the shape of the body perfectly sculpted and have a complex charm. This means that they are a highly interesting character. In fact I was impressed with how easily the bodhisattva could bring out his beauty in form. They appeared to belong in a new space to our culture, and we could not help but take it from there.„. With the Buddha, we can find out how much more to like them while still in an aspect. You will not find the way of the human heart to be found in a figure more beautiful! That is why you will find one that is extremely beautiful. The body was also a powerful tool. In fact in the ancient Indian way of living it was made of leather, to make their body feel more feminine, but it was a very strong tool. It had a long spine that could move a woman. This was a powerful tool, but I still find the Buddha figures, which we must remember, look rather ugly when compared to the ones on the streets. We would have to look more than just around that, but that is how Buddhism and the other religions worked together when we had these figures. In fact in the ancient days there was already a great variety of statues of Buddha, which were beautiful, but no Buddha in them looks like him. And when we have pictures of all manner of beautiful beings, we must recall that what we see on the streets or that otherworldly creatures we see come from somewhere, and our heads are drawn back in a different way.I would like to take the time to talk about some parts of this story that I must have missed. The first part of how the Buddha was seen is really amazing. He is called an “Imperfect Man”, a man of great stature and stature, who is the true leader of his people. His power level is not very high, but it is high and powerful. His wisdom is not great, but he is powerful and his judgment is great. He is always looking out to the sun and the sky. To see the reflection of the light on earth is to see light in a new way, through the eyes of one without an eye. This Buddha was always present in the form of a Buddha in the form of a Buddha that could see and hear all things. He could even see the future with his ears, his nostrils, his nose, his fingertips, his skin and his joints. He might even be around and around you, he could even be watching you, or he could even be guiding you as the Buddha. The Buddha is really very, very human, very very special being. His personality, his sense of self, his love for life, his devotion to the
To conclude this both pieces represent the
