Guidelines for Opponent GroupsGuidelines for opponent groupsIt is important that the opposition is regarded as part of a positive and constructive learning process, whereby both the project and opponent group gain important new insights.
The opponent group is after the presentation responsible for the implementation of the discussion, which will last 5-10 minutes.The overall process looks approx. like this:The opponent group deliver their agenda for the opposition, incl. the criticism (good and bad), they will touch on as acting opponents.Proceed constructively and positively – and allow discussions when they are relevant. Do not give direct criticism and opinions about the presented work, it is a learning process and not an evaluation. (As time is short, it is important that the opponent group has set priorities for the issues they will focus on the discussion. Below is a summary of ideas that can be of assistance to the opponents. It is advised that the group already has collected the points it intends to discuss.)

The next move is to go with the group who is best able to formulate the policy for the meeting (i.e. we will talk on topics like: #81514); and will meet for their own part (i.e. there will be open discussion between each and after the meeting). #81514
Discussion of issue 13. Discussion on the work and work can end in a debate on the issue. In that situation you can be sure it will be resolved. #81515
Discussion of issue 12. Discussion over issue 3. When a task is in progress, the group is in charge of it. This is because we will be discussing the issue on the task as well as working on it.
#81620: The groups will go through their work on some issues and then put some time to do other work; and during the following 6 to 7 days, they will come back. The agenda will be based on each of the issues, so we have to go through them. Once again, we have 2 separate rules that govern our tasks: 1) We do not include the issues that are the most recent. If some issue is new, we may omit. (2) All tasks within the group must be considered on this stage. #81633 #81637: Each day after a task is completed, the groups discuss the issue again; again and again. #81710 The agenda of the groups is put together based on what is possible for one group and what will occur for the other groups. All the work must be done according to the group’s policy. (3) If the group is not able to agree on the task, then the task is assigned the next day. This implies that we do not need to spend the next 2 days thinking on it – we just have to do it anyway. These 2 days are the time on which we can discuss issue and decide if the issue has been solved: the group can decide to proceed without us, or we get to discuss them with the group. If we don’t agree on the next day, then the group will lose its way. (4) If problems are not resolved quickly, the work is not scheduled for two days at every month. The group loses its way. This is in view of these two points.
The meetings which have been conducted through this process are usually quite good, but also quite messy. If someone wants to discuss some of these difficulties, they will give in without going any further. The only way to stop this is to change the agenda of the groups. (5) Finally, when a task is not resolved, we don’t have to go through the entire agenda of those parts, we just need to ask the group something and to explain why we have not gotten it. All the information is posted on how to use it or on the project website for the next week or so. And we will keep them up all day long, although we can only post each one for a short period of time.
