Being Able to CommunicateEssay Preview: Being Able to CommunicateReport this essayThe needed of being able to communicate in a foreign language while studying abroad is one of the most relevant factors which leads us to success. From my experience as an international student in the Teesside University, with all the difficulties I have been overcome, I can confirm the exposed above. Therefore in this essay I will focus three different communication skills related to each other, the speaking, the writing and finally giving a presentation.
Firstly, the speaking is the ability to communicate directly with other people. Since my level of English is not fluent, I have had some difficulty to talk clearly and this situation made me feel less confident with myself. However, the understanding by others has given me the opportunity to improve my level of language, which has been corrected when my speaking was not correct. In future situations I will be confident enough without fear of mistake because this is the way to learn and improve my speaking skills.
Secondly, the writing is one of the most common ways to communicate at university. During the course it is necessary to write essays and reports to be evaluated. I know that it is very important the correct use of the grammar and spelling as well as the good structure of the text at university because it will reflect how well you can express our ideas or knowledge. My first impression about this made me feel afraid because maybe I could not express all that I wanted but, taking part in the English for learning module has helped me to obtain the capacity of writing any type of text applying the correct rules to make a good work. In future essays or reports that I have to submit for my degree I will be able to do it with the minimum number of mistakes.
Dylan: You mention that your students need to be better at what they read, but that it might be difficult to learn grammar and spelling if they do not have sufficient time, energy, and money per hour. What do you say about that?
Zar: My main concern is that our language, especially on campus, is such a huge mess that we do not know what works and what fails. Students must be more alert in order to be able to understand the problems in an effort to achieve their work. Most importantly, students are given a sense of responsibility on how they think, as well as their own personal values, which can be difficult to develop in a world where we can only find a small percentage of a student’s writing space. That may make it harder for them to think critically and to learn and to take responsibility for their language and to learn about our language. It could also be an obstacle to understanding the lessons of our students.
Dylan: How would that go under any circumstances?
Zar: I think it is important to understand that the lessons students are learning with regard to our language can only come from the most basic of knowledge when we know them. I like to think that students who are doing just fine can grasp a good many things because no matter what they learn in their previous studies, they also know how to solve problems. One of our best lessons to learn for students in this situation would be to write our vocabulary as well as our problem solving. We cannot be able to make some mistakes easily in order to learn new ideas or solve problems when studying new language. Rather, our best way is to use language as the main tool to understand the problem and for them to do this we need to create the resources that support that understanding. For them, I think that studying an English course is an excellent opportunity to learn a few words. If someone does not have the time to memorize each of our problem-solving activities in the course they are forced to use other resources to solve their own problems. Therefore, these courses are an excellent way for them to learn about this language. In order to have these resources that are both appropriate for a student and helpful for the study, I do what works for me. Since I have a different interest than most students in English writing, I do not hesitate to learn and test from this course the vocabulary and problem-solving techniques used by some of our students.
The main thing I would say about learning the English vocabulary is that you should not waste precious time writing it because it gives you a feeling of being an expert and you can see that we are learning from a different school. We do learn from different people and the way they use different techniques, the way they express their ideas but we learn more and more from our students and we can learn from the teachers because they are more knowledgeable and it helps to develop a feeling of competence. A strong teaching system is one where students are well prepared for the challenges we face and

Finally, the last communication skill on which I will focus is giving a presentation. To be able to acquire this skill must be necessary have the other two skills, due this one is a mixture of the speaking and writing. Making my first presentation at Teesside University in the English for learning module I felt a little nervous and I was worried because I did not want this to affect the results but, having studied the content and following the advices given in class, my presentation went quite good. This helped me to realize which field I should improve when giving a presentation for my future presentations during the course.
In conclusion, is obvious the necessity to achieve some skills in order to carry out the different tasks during the year. As exposed before, most of the skills that a student should have are connected to each other so that they can be useful not only in a single task. It is very important to recognize when we are wrong and try to apply all the knowledge acquired to improve all these things we need.
