From different points of views and perspective, the world is indeed diverse. It varies from one culture to another, from language to language and most significantly, the differences in religious belief.
The differences in religious belief can undeniably affect the way a person sees the world. People’s acts can considerably be governed by his or her religious doctrines being followed. For us, Christians, we are following the Christian way of living, the way how Christ lived as man. But at some point, we become so narrow that we tend to forget that there are people who live not in accordance on how we also live. This becomes the reason why we get to judge others easily.
So, during the prayer session, I have learned things. If people don’t have the same belief as yours, it doesn’t mean that they will be only causing harm to you. For example, our Muslim brothers and sisters, we should not practice stereotyping that they are all terrorist. Like us, they also want peace for everyone. Let us not let our differences divide us and the norms define us. We are all unique individuals and let us not make this uniqueness be our weak point. Let us make this our strength and be there for everyone if they need us, they might be Christians or not. We are all equal in the Lord’s eyes. His love is unconditional and it transcends to all creations.
As God’s followers, we might not be totally like him but we should try to somehow be the same as him even in the way we show love to everyone, even in different race, nationalities and beliefs, because it is in genuine love that we attain both internal and external peace, the peace that binds each and every individual.
