TOPIC:
The topic of this research paper is media. Media is means of by which something is communicated, such as television. (Petley, 2001) Ever since television was introduced in 1952, it has become a significant part in the lives of many Canadians. (Ledingham, 1994) It is a way to, for 30 minutes disconnect from reality and get a glimpse into a life that seems perfect. Problems that arise in characters lives are solved within 30 minutes in time for a happy ending. Real life is of course not like this. This distortion of reality depicted on television gives viewers unrealistic views on life. Thus, affecting them in a negative way.
RESEARCH QUESTION:
The question being asked in this research paper is does television have a negative affect on viewers?
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this paper is to answer the question does television have a negative affect on viewers? A negative affect on how the viewer sees life, family and themselves? How the viewer interacts with others?
For primary research the method of research that will be used is surveys. This was chosen because it allows the surveyor to collect data form many people at once.
POSSIBLE LIMITATIONS:
Some things that will limit the process of research are if the source that is being used is not 100% accurate. There may also be a very small amount of places reliable enough to get information from. Also the biggest limitation is if the people being surveyed do not provide the correct information. This will lead to incorrect results.
