This is done by developing a strategy to overcome many of the challenges and changes that occur internally and externally in an organization. By adapting a strategic plan to any challenges that may arise, the company is able to keep track of all the changing trends and in the end, implement all the necessary adjustments. These challenges consist in changing the internal and external environment, technology upgrades, political-legal issues, environmental practices, and any sociocultural trends existing around the world. In crafting a strategic plan to map out the steps needed, the company will be able to overcome many challenges and changes that will arise periodically. The company will be able to gain a competitive advantage by ensuring all prerequisites are met in analyzing the outcome of its objectives (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010).
Role of Ethics and Social ResponsibilitySocial responsibility is an ethical role where organizations and people are obligated to humanity in being responsible “to society that extend beyond making a profit” (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010, p. 72). According to Archie Carroll, he lists four responsibilities a company must follow in order to have a positive effect on the financial performance of a company and so the organization can to continue to exist. The four responsibilities mentioned are the:
Economic responsibility to produce valuable goods and service to make a profit in order to repay its creditors and shareholders.Legal responsibility to obey and follow the laws, thus continuing its existence.Ethical responsibility to support beliefs on how society should behave towards nature with its people, the environment, and organizations. Everyone and everything in a society will be affected by its ethical behavior.
Discretionary responsibility is when an organization is volunteering to join nonprofit charities or organizing programs to assist in improving society and its environment. This positive actions is at many times not recognized by many as only “a few people expect an organization to fulfill” (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010, p.73).
Ethical BoundariesAn organization is fulfilling its obligation to society by giving back to society in being involve or active on environmental issues as well as, supporting and volunteering to charitable causes. Although costly, by a company being environmentally sensitive, a competitive advantages is created. For example, a company may overstep an ethical boundary by not being environmentally sensitive to the earth and its habitat. Ethical issues against a company will progress towards lawsuits that could end up costly for the company and the shareholders agenda. By citizens gaining knowledge of the issue, they will ethically behave in boycotting the organization for such daunting behavior. This is due to society and its governments values
The ethical question of Ethical Process is a question of ethical rules. The ethics question is usually based upon the knowledge that a company is ethically responsible and will continue to do so if and when necessary and in a timely manner through its own actions and decisions. As an example, consider whether you or your family or anyone around you have some level of criminal history in the community in which you were raised (particularly if you were the one who received your death penalty). Can the company actually prevent such a conviction from happening by making its products more environmentally sensitive? What happens if it stops? Such a decision could ultimately lead to a cost to the company from its profit to its shareholders. Such an ethical question is another potential ethical issue. Ethical Process is a question of a firm’s obligations to society, which is as a community-centered process as it is an international one, as it is legal in the United Nations. It will not be a very common issue to deal with ethical process which is based on a group based policy, but it is likely that it will become a public-facing issue in an international setting. More generally, it will require an international cooperation relationship in order to be a viable alternative to other legal and ethical issues in many ethical areas.
The ethical dilemma faced by any corporation is not exactly a moral one. Its financial contributions are often very small. If it manages to be transparent as to the company’s ethical behavior with all its employees, it will be seen all over the world doing its corporate work. The ethical dilemma in the world today does not involve the world. In fact, a corporation is an asset to society and so a person with an ethical ethics will gain and maintain influence because of the support of others. However, we cannot forget that the organization has a huge history (indeed all its members have the same record of behavior and will share one important trait they value). As a citizen of the world, there are people in the world whose ethical behavior is different from all others. They either have a more stable life as citizen or they have a lower moral standard by which to evaluate the ethical decisions of society. Therefore any corporation should strive to act in a way that provides a better result for human beings and the world. Ethical Process

In some contexts, this movement could be seen as a reaction to the legalism and the power structures which prevent them (the “business ethics” group). This group often has been in conflict with legal systems, corporations, and governments. However, it isn’t as simple as some of those groups. Some of these types of legal systems have been influenced by and have affected the decision making processes of various societies. In most societies, the business ethical issues must be negotiated through the democratic political process. In one way, this requires the use of the corporate ethics movement.
