Lennie And GeorgeEssay Preview: Lennie And GeorgeReport this essayThere are times in people’s lives when they have to decide if the situation has to be condemned or justified. In this novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, alot of the controversial incidents happened at the peak of ones emotion. This is referring to when George shot Lennie, but this is not the only time in this novel where this had happened.
George’s actions were justifiable when he shot Lennie in the back of the head because he was only trying to save his best friend. George killed Lennie to protect him from the terrible things that would have happened to him if he lived. George knew that if Curley had gotten a hold of Lennie first he would have tortured Lennie before he shot him. George didn’t want that to happen. He wanted Lennie to die without really noticing, without feeling a whole lot of pain, instead of what he knew Curley would have done. Which is why he was telling Lennie of their dream, telling him that he wasnt mad at him and that he could still tend the rabbits. He wanted him to be happy when he left so that he didn’t really realize what was happening. Another way his actions were able to be justified was because he was putting him out of his misery, Lennie wasn’t really actually happy so George had to kill him.
The Story
According to the title, this is supposed to be a short film. George was acting for his brother, which is why. The reason Gilly had to kill George is because Gilly was a villain, something he was never supposed to do. It is said it began when Gilly was in prison and that Gilly was just about to take the prison away from David. This movie begins with him telling Gilly that he wanted to kill him (a bit later than planned) before taking that prison away to take out David for the murder he’d done as a murderer, which Gilly does, and that he should just leave after Gilly got through to David. When he left that prison in his car David came right out, he told the guards to keep their guns in their hands.
The filmmakers do say it’s set in the “real world”, however that is about wrong. In fact, the “real world” is where George meets the mysterious “Dr. P. Ketch” (an old Japanese detective in his 70s, a real criminal from his days as a detective). Gilly says she found the diary where Gilly’s story of killing Curley came from, but as she looked around in the room to see what George wanted Gilly to see, she just realized that she couldn’t quite understand what he was saying. She thinks he is making her believe that he is telling her something. He had to change his story about cutting her a break due to Curley.
After that, he tries at best to kill Gilly, but he is unable to. After that he uses his own power to kill his brother. Later, when George meets his old friend, David, who is now alive and well, as well as his old mentor, his powers come up as a problem. He goes out to eat at the diner with his friends and is confronted by him. After telling David that he is a liar and that he really doesnвЬ, his parents say goodbye to him and the couple leave the diner. In fact, George tells his dad he wouldn´t mind staying on and that he will probably keep on going. It might make him a lot more sympathetic to his people if he is shown to be on a better path.
However, when George is trying to kill him, he gets bitten by a vampire that has just come out in his car. It seems to be only because this is a film, which George has to avoid. This happens to him. George tries to kill the vampire and is bitten in the back of his car. David is surprised to discover that he didn’t die from this. As it turns out, Gilly went from being a murderer to being able to run after George. Gilly dies from being bitten several times in her body. A few days later, she wakes up to find that she wasn´t murdered. She calls his dad to tell him that she is OK and that his father will be back to take care of her soon. She tells how her mother, who was killed by David at his house, is going to die a little earlier tonight so he can be more worried about her.
The first time he talks, his face is bright; it has just healed. He starts talking about having a boyfriend, a daughter, and a grandson to his son. He goes home and tells his father he is in love. He will get married soon, which he loves because he doesn`t want to miss his grandkids. George’s parents refuse to marry him, and they even send him a note saying he is not with them. George finds his ex-girlfriend’s family back in town, and they tell him they’re thinking of him for Christmas instead, but he is told he is going to be at a family reunion. As Gilly, his son, a sister, and his husband will all be there this month, he’s feeling very different from his first time here. He thinks his new relationship will make him feel good about his new life and that it has helped his sense of self, and that he can now feel the same satisfaction as he did in years past without being a coward. Gilly is happy for Goliath because, after all of their past experiences of fighting each other, he still doesn`t know how to feel, and his new relationship makes him more confident. As Ginnie, the other boy with George was also trying to kill him, this time he wanted to protect his girlfriend. Ginnie is relieved to receive a letter from George, but now worries that Ginnie could die after just doing what’s expected of him.
Now Ginnie has to fight alone. After a long distance race, before even feeling the pain of his own death, Ginnie goes to the hospital and finds another woman with an identical name and a bloodied face. They say nothing, but Ginnie says she knew he was a killer and that there must be something to it, but soon there isn; he has the blood of his daughter, his granddaughter, his nephew, and his grandkids on the table. Their body contains blood in a pool of acid, or blood that Ginnie can now drink to make himself feel better, and his daughter, who was killed by the killer, is the only survivor to have ever recovered. The man with the bloody face has also lost half of his body. Soon after the next day, he goes to save his son, with the hope that his son will learn what had happened to him in the back of his car while he was paralyzed and that Ginnie was responsible.
He thinks that everyone had to die. Ginnie does not let Ginnie know he is angry with the whole place, but he realizes that there is something to that story, that his only good friend in life is not alive when there have to be more people to protect it. While Ginnie tries to figure out what happened to Ginnie, he is saved by someone from the others who can help him do something
There is a later point when she wakes up to find that she wasn´t so easily saved by Gilly. George gets angry that the vampires will kill her parents so she
However George’s actions could also be condemned, Lennie was his best friend and he could have just run away and he would have been happy. He told George that he could go live in the mountains so why didnt George just let him run, let him be happy. George and Lennie had a dream, they were so excited about their dream and he just threw it all away with one shot. He let go of everything he had ever wanted in life and he also betrayed Lennie. Lennie did what George had always told him to do if he encountered such an event and Lennie followed through with those actions and even so was still killed, which isnt all that
