The Development of Eye-Glasses
The development of eye-glasses has been a long process.It nearly extends to 800 years and it has come a long ways. From having the basic glasses ,to correcting vision without the use of glasses. It had improved the ways people live and how they viewed the world . Vision care has changed dramastically over the years.
Looking back to 1000 a.d, the majority of the population didn’t know how to read and write. The ones that could read and write consisted mostly of monks and scholars,who devoted most of their life translating the bible. Many of them had a difficult time reading because they had presbyopia(age related loss of eye vision).In order to overcome this obstacle monks invented the reading stone.Reading stones is a clear, spherical polished natural quartz and is the first known as the first ever corrective device.
