Diversity in the WorkplaceEssay Preview: Diversity in the WorkplaceReport this essaydiversity initiatives; (6) succession planning; (7) recruitment; (8) employee involvement in an organizations diversity management; and (9) training for management and staff about diversity management”. The report implies that if an organization implements these initiatives or a combination of, a company should have a success in developing and implementing diversity management.
Simply developing diversity management, of course, is not a key to a productive diverse workforce. Having a accountability for workforce development and a strategic Human Resource Management program that staffs, develops, appraises, and fairly rewards a diverse workforce keeps the company functioning in accordance with labor laws and remain solvent.
One cannot talk about diversity in workplace without discussing the “glass ceiling” that exists today for minorities and disabled in the workforce. In a perfect world, all men are created and treated equally in the workforce when it comes to hiring, promotion and career advancement. Although more women and minorities have risen the corporate ladder through both education and/or affirmative action programs, the fact remains that there is disproportion of top management positions in reference to the demographic and racial breakdown of the population. The Black/African-American population is 13.4 percent of the US population yet “African Americans still hold less than 1 percent of the tens of thousands of senior-level, corporate posts at Americas 1,000 largest public corporations,” . Progress is clear but not as prevalent or rapid enough to match the population.

I would like to add that the US workplace is no longer just confined to the largest private companies who are headquartered in a particular city. Companies like American Airlines, Apple, FedEx, Verizon, General Motors, and Walmart are also very important players in a diverse sector where diversity is often an issue. American Airlines has 20,300 workers with diverse background backgrounds who are the largest single employer in the US. The next biggest employer in these industries is a small tech firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which has 20,400 employees with their own diverse backgrounds and a similar share of workers with a racial and sexual orientation. These three companies play a very important role in a diverse industry and have an equal share of all positions in the US: jobs in the IT and information technology industries. These companies are already taking actions to create more diverse working and living environments in their industry.

Just thinking about that now. ____________I would like to add that the US workplace is no longer just confined to the largest private companies who are headquartered in a particular city. Companies like American Airlines, Apple, FedEx, Verizon, General Motors, and Walmart are also very important players in a diverse sector where diversity is often an issue. American Airlines has 20,300 workers with diverse background backgrounds who are the largest single employer in the US. The next biggest employer in these industries is a small tech firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which has 20,400 workers with their own diversity backgrounds and a similar share of workers with a racial and sexual orientation. these three companies play a very important role in a diverse industry and have an equal share of all positions in the US: jobs in the IT and information technology industries. I think any job on the internet should be for anyone who has been in a work setting for a long time, who has good relationships with other users, and has been fortunate enough to have friends at work who are diverse, like myself. My job is to help people get into IT/B2B jobs, and I really want them to have a lot of skills. That includes having a strong grounding in Computer Science, and computer skills. I will focus my attention on those who are also interested in a combination of these fields. This has made the last two years of my life harder. It started back in 2013, and has been getting worse all along. The only thing that is increasing is demand for people more diverse. This is because of the lack of job openings for women or minorities. We just have too many black/white males working in the US, especially after the Obama Administration started looking after their Black Lives Matter issues, with the idea being that if they are successful and they don’t go away, then their job prospects will suffer because they won’t have the support of the civil rights community. I know this because I was a child growing up in a diverse community, but I am now a woman with a lot of potential. If my family would take these jobs, I could potentially be a career woman in this large company that has a lot of diversity, and if my parents would not take the jobs like I have now, as well, it’s likely they’d get to spend their time looking for jobs in this sector, and then it might be harder for me to get paid as an IT professional. In contrast, if they find the same job opportunities, they’d be very happy working on the same machine and learn a bunch of new programming languages. I am not being the only type of person who is concerned about those issues because I see people are concerned about those issues as well, so we need to know what is being done to address this issue before any job openings seem to be for those people or some people even less able to do what they dream of doing so badly in the US, or how to get them to do their job. I can’t tell anyone, but there was more demand for me to get new jobs in 2016 than ever before in my long lifetime. That’s exactly where my job openings are. The job market is changing, and it may take some time where we can look for people to fill this important, difficult need. It takes time to get new people. If we can find it, it can really help change things.
In what ways has there been a shift in workplace demographics since 2009, when the last year of data was released at CES? __________________________________In 2011, there was a 5:1 ratio of female to male employed
If you would like an example (like I just did), I would like to focus on a company in Chicago with a diverse workforce, which is owned by a white female executive who will be a member of the Board of Directors of the new company. She already has a strong following and would gladly be a part of any upcoming advancement program for some of us in this role. The Board of Directors is the agency and CEO of such a company and she is an advocate for the rights and equity of women and minorities in the workforce. Of the three companies in this picture…
And then finally…
The bottom line? The best way to help these companies are to work with them and provide leadership and mentoring services. For the young and the old, you cannot do this without the support of leaders of these three companies; in fact at one point, the only way someone would truly be held accountable to be a role model and role model to young people in this field is because they have done at least one action such as a raise of employees.
I am writing to tell you that the Chicago Board of Cementors will be holding a leadership symposium on the value of diversity leadership and to discuss leadership and role of women in leadership by June 20th.
