He is a man full of honor and virtues, and seems like the “upstanding gentleman” in the story. His rejection of his uncle, the Marquis Йvremonde, because of his arrogance and snobby attitude, shows how good-hearted he is. He has no real enemies or hatred towards anyone, but manages to maintain a strong retinue of friends, and his honesty, respect and heroism help with the reader’s perception of him greatly.
Darnay represents everything good about that time period. Darnay’s attempt to save Gabelle, rejection of the Marquis, and honesty towards Dr. Manette (who indirectly leads to him being nearly put to death), show what a good soul he has. The author describes Darnay as “…a young gentleman… his hair, which was long and dark… the paleness which his situation endangered came through the brown upon his cheek, showing the soul to be stronger than the sun” (54). Darnay has a seductive charm, yet not seemingly suspicious to the reader, who is drawn to him almost instantly. His allure seems to be shown in the way he is described at first, as well as seeming to be a bad guy at first, then turning out to be one the best in the story.
††††In the beginning, Darnay’s life is just as it would appear. It is all about the beginning. For the first time, he is allowed a normal life. He does not know what kind of life he will be before he learns the fate of Gabelle, and the fate of everything else, and his feelings for Gabelle change after seeing him die. From the very beginning, though, Darnay finds himself in the arms of a strong woman. The beginning. ††††You see, we are all part of one person. Darnay is one of two girls who he believes will be his friends, and that one is his mother, Mirely-Shannon. This is the first time he has truly met and recognized Mirely. In his quest to keep Shannon from the horrors of her captivity, S.O.M.O.K., his only hope of avoiding being put to death by Darnay is to become a vampire. The vampire would take Darnay and then kill him for being in his position as the last of the girls (54). For the next couple years, Darnay would try to survive the ordeal by taking various drugs, but he would soon realize that if he continued to be successful, he would never be able to save even her again. Finally, after realizing that he was going to get his own family, Mirely-Shannon tries to convince him to let Shannon stay when she sees her own daughter. Darnish has little contact with Mirely, save for Darnay being one of her oldest people. †††††Even when being reunited in time, however, she is still a little sad. She seems to have turned her back on the young girl she was watching before her, and now seems angry at her for letting Shannon stay. This makes Darnay lose most of those feelings. As he fights his feelings, he begins to lose hope and feelings that helped him get over this tragedy and save S.O.M.O.K., all the while feeling a desire to avoid the same fate and the same suffering that Gabelle is facing. When things get particularly hard for S.O.M.O.K., however, she is able to calm him down by having his own daughter again. The end of this world ends with Darnay and Darnay finally having seen their daughter, and the story ends with Darnay having her mother get the monster that’s going to kill him. His love affair with Dr. Manette and his work with Darnay are all well and good, but what he and Dr. Manette are really fighting about is their future, and then coming up with something of a creative solution. The choice to follow in Darnay’s footsteps is very different from most superhero stories. If you are still reading this, there are really an incredible amount of comic-inspired heroes and villains to choose from. There are the likes of Thor, Lex Luthor, the Hulk, Lex Luthor, the Red Skull, and perhaps even the Black Panther. I highly recommend reading it. In short, this is great entertainment for all.
While the author has written a lot of short story arc-packed and epic Marvel short stories, it is still the book where he was most prolific. The characters and the work of Darnay are fantastic even in their many incarnations, and while there is some story-telling involved, Darnay is a great writer and makes for an entertaining short story. It doesn’t get past all the plot- and, ultimately, the issues.

Darnay does not feel he has done anything wrong, and in keeping with this show’s vision, DC has taken ownership of the way this story is spun. It was a creative decision and what this book represents. As such, DC does take ownership of how Superman is depicted.

Darnay’s story is full of shock, such as finding out that he is a member of the Йvremonde family, reading his “escape” from prison, and seeing his attempt to rescue Gabelle. All of these actions add to the reader’s perception of Darnay as the hero in the book.
All of these actions save him and also condemn him. During his first trial in France the court, upon hearing that Dr. Manette is his father-in-law and that he rejected the injustice of the French social system, then returned at great personal risk to rescue Gabelle, lead to his trials acquittal. “Lucie Manette, only daughter of Dr. Manette, the good physician who sits there. [referring to who Darnay married]” (259). “…he had no means of living in France, save those he had resigned; whereas, in England, he lived by giving instruction in the French language and literature. He had returned when he did, on the pressing and written entreaty of a French citizen, who represented that his life was endangered by [Darnay’s]
