FireproofEssay Preview: FireproofReport this essayFireproofFireproof is a very inspiring movie. This movie details the marriage between Capt. Caleb Holt and his wife Catherine. Caleb is a captain with the local fire department. This couple has been married for seven years and develops the “seven year marriage jinks”. They are constantly arguing about chores, finances, work, just about any and everything. The arguing got so bad that they both decided that it was time to end their marriage; they both thought that a divorce would be in the best interest of their sanity. Caleb talks to his father about how bad his marriage had become, about how hard its for them to be in the same room, or to even feel love. His father offers a solution to Caleb; he tells Caleb about a 40-day experiment called the “Love Dare”. The “love dare” is an experiment in which Caleb does something different for his wife, such as leaving love notes, flowers, cleaning up, or just not reacting when she says something he doesnt like or agrees with.
Caleb is met with much rejection and disdain from his wife; she doesnt believe that he is becoming a “changed” man, only because she is a woman fed up. Caleb wonders what is the point of it all, shes doesnt care and doesnt want to continue or try to continue the marriage, so why should he. If she is unwilling to fight for their marriage to work, hes going to throw in the towel. Caleb father reassures him that when you love something or someone, the fight is worth it. Looking at how God loves us, He gave his only son so that we as may have a chance, and we still disappoint, sin and hurt Him, but he continues to embrace and love us through it all. Sometimes you have to love people through the hurt and pain and remove the negative feelings that they may have caused us to have.
