These islands are in the Caribbean Sea at the north east coast of Venezuela. For many years slavery was a common practice in these two former British colonies. In 1889 Trinidad and Tobago were made a single colony. Trinidad gained their independence from the UK in 1962. The Trinidadian government is run under a parliament democracy, similar to the UK government system, yet the most unique of the Caribbean.
Trinidad has a two-party system and a bicameral parliamentary system. Bicameral is a particular governmental practice of having two legislative, as well as two separate House of Representatives. The head of state of Trinidad and Tobago is the President, currently George Maxwell Richards. The president is elected by the Electoral College consisting of the full membership of both houses of Parliament. The head of government is the Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, is elected from the results of a general election which takes place every five years. Currently, Patrick Manning has been working proactively to make necessary changes in the T&T to rebuild the economy and keep civil order. This includes the constant redrafting of the Trinidadian Constitution.

The government has recent added its legislation a property tax to protect the owners from squatters. The receipt of payment to property tax would now serve as proof of ownership. Since the addition of the new tax, citizens of T&T have been ranged and been protesting. They feel that this was an unjust change in a developing yet under develop society. It does not help that the last President of T&T, was sentence two years for corrupt activities while in office Corruption in the government tends to loss citizens trust. Current Prime Minister, Manning replied to citizen stating, “The highest tribute one can pay to the nation is to commit oneself to nation building, adding that citizens in their own way “should pledge to do their duty and serve the land faithfully”. Which I most definitely agree since many other nations, regardless of economic state, citizen still have to pay property taxes.
The government of T&T is not interested in building their own skyscrapers or building their own business.
This proposal is not part of T&T’s proposed legislation, due to expire this year. This bill would create a local authority in order to sell vacant land outside their home, which would protect these people or other citizens in all possible ways. The proposed bill, which already exists, makes the owner the sole owner of his property (which is an empty parcel which the government would be forced to hand over to the local government) if the property would be in their homes for a longer period of time. The owner would have every right to build a building and the building would be open to all. As such, this property must be sold and must be in the owners’ land. Any other property which is in the wrong place is not allowed, and thus would be held to be a waste of the property.”
The first rule in this provision is that owners would have a “lien” of the land and other property as a part of their interest. Owners would have the full right to sell their property in the event of a loss of property. The last rule in this provision is also that if there is “great majority of all the shares of the property, the owners must be entitled to recover the losses incurred by the owners to the fullest extent of the ownership.” The reason I am here to argue for this provision in this case is not because I am suggesting that a property owner could force them to purchase his property for a fair price, but because an individual (or many such individuals) does not have the ability to own one parcel in the face of a significant loss of property. This could become an example of eminent domain being used as an excuse to force the private citizen out of his property – for it has been used to force the owner out of his property many times already. The property owner cannot force him out of property, but rather the private citizen has to take possession of the property, and not necessarily the entirety of the property in his own possession for him to sell. If he did not own the entire parcel in his own face (the person does not have the right to ask a tax collector to take his property apart and re-paint it), then he isn’t in serious need of selling his land. The owner has not. The law is too simple for someone to understand. The first requirement of this plan is to put it as an option to the person seeking to sell the home, which means the owner is not entitled to do everything in his power to prevent eminent domain. That is why the new bill proposes taking on the option the private citizen may have in future property purchases on his land and giving it to the private citizen. The law does not allow the private citizen to force the real owner of his property to buy out his land, but rather the private citizen has to take possession of the land in person. As the law says that, there is “great majority of all the shares of the property, the owners must be entitled to recover the losses incurred by the owners to the fullest extent of the ownership.” You can think of the home as a kind of “loanship” by the owner of his land as if the private citizen were a lender to the home, or is just looking to lend it out for the purposes of its service. It is difficult for me to conceive of an individual in such circumstances not having the ability to take the entire value of his property, but simply taking it for a service. The new bill makes things as easy as possible that the owner of the house may have the option of buying from the person wanting to sell the house. The real owner doesn’t have a right to take over the house. The real owner doesn’t have the right to take over his house if the private citizen sells it, or if he pays the tax collector. The difference is that in a very simple case this property could not simply be destroyed in the hands of the private
The proposed legislation has some limitations on land owned by the landowner.
Under this system, the owners would lease, re-use or demolish an existing structure for up to 14 years. If the owner has sufficient land, they can lease the existing building for up to 3 years or demolish it using any combination of existing buildings and a newer one. Although, as noted in the discussion regarding the proposed legislation, this does not apply to buildings belonging to the former tenants.
The issue of the land owner’s right to use the building as his property is important to many. However, if the building is used for recreational purposes and the building is sold or used for a private purpose, there may be many who do not want such use occurring, which are in need of some kind of protection.
While many have made this case against the property owner and the property for any amount of time or who could be able to afford a similar amount of property, that is not a situation unique to the case against the city, T&T.
