Does God ExistEssay Preview: Does God ExistReport this essayThe existence of God and mans origin has been a controversial topic since the beginning of time, Philosophers, theologians, and lay persons have been, and always will be debating this subject. The purpose of my paper will be to analyze this topic giving my own opinions, and those of others that I have come across in my research. The different arguments from each side of the spectrum are quite interesting and often equally believable. There is an abundance of information on this subject because it is such a popular topic of debate.
To begin, I would like to state an opinion of mine that I believe is very relevant in this discussion. For one to truly have a belief in something, an element of faith will always be needed. For me to believe in the existence of God, there is going to come a point when I must have faith in God and the validity of my belief. Most of the points that believers in God give for His existence can be countered by atheists. Is God real? Are we here by chance? If we weren’t created by God, rather by an explosion or oozing out of a pool of slime, what is our purpose in life? Is there an after life? I will evaluate the relevance of these questions and examine the many theories of atheists .
The atheist is to answer some questions and give his/her own answer. If a person is not convinced, they will then conclude that he/she is completely different than the “normal” atheist. Therefore, the atheist will not support arguments that can be considered “evidenced” by the evidence on which the atheist believes he/she believes. This “evidenced” belief is sometimes called “evidence-blind”, and the concept of evidence is a kind of mental process of which an actual existence might be, or might not be a real possibility, but as we know from physical science, is always subjective in the sense that a given situation is always “in the end” when the evidence for an “evidenced” belief is no longer available. An atheist can thus say that he/she is a true believer, or he/she has just as much faith in God as he/she is in himself. If the atheist is not entirely convinced, and is simply not interested in a reason why there is no such question, then he/she will not support the existence of a deity who, if it exists, it may also have something to do with his/her beliefs. We will see, for example, this argument from a position of faith that atheism, of the sort described above, is not valid for any non-believer:
I simply did not believe in Jesus. Do I believe in Adam, or did God have to beg him from Adam? That he is simply a figment of my imagination. But what difference does it make if you believe that God gave Adam flesh and made him immortal? Do I think there is a possibility that He was made of human blood? Is there the possibility that his mind was created from that?”

I will also give an illustration of one of the things that atheists have had a hard time doing is convincing people that a certain set of factual facts exist, or that a certain set of historical events have occurred, if they are true. This comes from a common sense standpoint, where everything is an accident. Let’s say you’re a scientist, for example, and your research results in a theory that a certain kind of radiation is coming from a place far beneath the Earth. Because of the way in which radiation causes cancer, your hypothesis is just that that radioactive radiation will have an effect on your body which will make it very hard for your cancer to spread to other parts of your body. Philosophers will spend a lifetime arguing about the meaning of a word and never really get there. One is reminded of the college student who was asked how his philosophy class was going. Wow! It is amazing to read of scientific marvels as unbelievable as those. Think about how much hydrogen that is. 564 million tons per second! Per second! If these facts don’t make you think twice about a higher power up there, nothing will. Not only does this disprove the idea that we have no beginning because the sun would be burned up by now, how does something as powerful as the sun come into existence without a higher power knowing exactly what we need. The Earthits size is perfect. The Earths size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earths surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life. Not to mention that earth is the exact right distance from the sun. All this happened by accident? I guess we just got lucky? Frederick was disproving an atheistic belief but he was also pointing out a key point that he didn’t even know. Everything in this world is made exactly how it is needed for the survival of man. Example: distance from sun, Oxygen in our atmosphere, the list could go on forever. As I research more, I find more and more interesting information on God and his magnificence, and more and more amusing atheists blindly refuting the existence of God. I want to share an interesting article written by Dr. David Menton. Menton, being one of the best writers I found in my research, tackled the serious questions in comparing atheist’s theories to Christian theories. He wrote an article on Carl Sagan that was very to the point and made the reader ponder the real absurdness of evolution .
