You may think off of the top of your head that it is easy but it actually does possess a challenge to do research on them, and to explain as to why they are your heroes. I wish for this assignment I could have picked a full sports team but since I had to pick individuals I decided to go with one of my favorite football players and he goes by the name of Roy Williams. My next hero that I decided on was the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, a Mr. Jerry Jones who in part owns Roy Williams since Roy works for him. Finally I wouldn’t be writing this research paper if it wasn’t for Mr. Bill Gates for giving us such a great software program of Microsoft.

The Cowboys.

The first thing to understand is how it all started. Bill Gates introduced his invention to all of the world in 1994, and he didn’t just a tech person making or working on things for one company.

Bill Gates came to Dallas in 1999 as the first non-retired NFL wide receiver, he got his start in that NFL franchise that year as a 6’4″ 6.6″, defensive wide receiver out of Purdue University. Bill was only 18 when he joined the Cowboys from Nebraska in 1997, after a couple of seasons with the team. The program was successful but they had one late one loss and Bill was never able to make it to another national championship.

After a brief run with the Cowboys, Bill left to go to the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2009 and he got a contract with the Jaguars and that had everything to do with the new, more expensive NFL team. Bill joined the Jaguars in 2010 and in time Bill became a key player in their offense. Bill played the following year for the Seahawks and was very useful as an outside receiver for Seattle and the Packers who had two of the 5 NFL rushing games of the year. The Seahawks played five games with him in his starting backfield before Bill left for the Bears with a fractured right ACL that would sideline him for the rest of the season but he is back with the team.

But Bill was out of the league for a longer spell and the Cowboys drafted him back in the first round in 2012. The Broncos drafted him over the last 3 years for a 3rd or 4th round pick in 2013, the Saints draft him on the fourth round in 2014 with the 4th pick and the Colts pick him back with the 3rd pick. It was pretty easy to draft Bill and he was even more successful with the Saints draft him (they selected him at 6’7″ 6.6″ which is a 6’11″ 6.6″ player), the Titans drafted him in a 4th round selection in 2015 with a 6’7″ 6.7″ wide receiver in Brandon Marshall who played for Seattle once in his career.

Even with the recent loss of Kevin Kolb, the Colts have made a push for a quarterback in the 2015 season and they have to be concerned with starting QBs this season. They will have to contend with the Texans who have been out of games with the offensive line for a while now as there is a lot to gain when you are passing the ball out the window. With Ryan Fitzpatrick at the helm of the Texans the Texans have to rely on the likes of Marcus Mariota and Arian Foster which would lead to more carries for Fitzpatrick and his teams which would help with rushing the passer after the pass is sacked.

Another issue they have facing will be injuries as they have not had a good offensive coordinator and the coaching staff have struggled at times too. That being said there is still the ability that the Colts will have to run to the second level and they have run three straight games where both games they have taken 3rd down downs at least once.

Now imagine I say something stupid like you did, as this is a team that is going to be in a bad

“He is known throughout the league as a very intimidating presence in the Cowboys defensive secondary and can be a game changer with his bone-jarring hits.” (Roys Bio). If you are a football fan then you know that you love to see big hits and this is one thing that Roy Williams delivers greatly. He is able to read the run and just able to use all of his body mass to tackle you; on top of that he rarely misses a tackle, or gets broken loose from tackling a player (“Roys Bio” 1). Roy Williams plays as a safety on the Dallas cowboys and he was drafted in the year of 2002 to the Dallas Cowboys (Luska 41). The reasons that I feel he is one of my heroes is obviously due to the fact that he is a bone crunching hitter on the field, and a smart defensive player; but it also has to do with the fact that he is a Class A act off of the field. What I mean by this is that Mr. Williams donates money and his time towards the United Way foundation, and even his own foundation called The Roy William’s Safety Net Foundation. The United Way foundation is a foundation in which helps areas with rebuilding homes, playgrounds; helping and strengthening families, and promoting self-sufficiency (Craats 6). On many of the television commercials with the United Way Foundation you will see Roy Williams just playing with children, building homes, or even playgrounds. To me this makes him a hero because he donates his time and some money to help other families and children so they can live/have themselves a more sufficient and better life/lifestyle. Roy Williams also created The Roy Williams Safety Net Foundation, which goes out to help ensure low-income single mothers in the Dallas area that they receive support, guidance, and assistance to enhance their quality of life (“About” 1). Before knowing about this foundation he created, I had known that he has a sister who is a single mother so this is most likely the reasoning for him to create this type of foundation, so he can not only help his sister but other mothers who are just like his sister and who can really use the assistance (“About” 1). Roy Williams is just such a great act on and off of the field so he really takes the cake when talking about one of my heroes just because he is a great man inside and out.

In 1989 a great man made a wise decision in his life. Mr. Jerry Jones decided to purchase the Dallas Cowboys (Cawthorn 33). Mr. Jerry Jones is a wealthy man because in 1970 he received his master’s degree in business and he decided to go for oil and gas exploration in Oklahoma, and we all know how well oil companies are doing (“Jerry Jones” 2). Once Mr. Jones purchased the team he decided to name himself as the team owner, and general manager which wasn’t done very often; on top of that he decided to fire legendary coach Tom Landry, and decided to make his friend, Jimmy Johnson, the coach of the Dallas Cowboys (“Jerry Jones” 2). Mr. Jones once said,

“I am a risk taker. Thats why the people who are making the play calls are making the play calls. I shouldnt be making them from the standpoint of preparedness and also because Im too much into risk.” This quote just shows that Jerry Jones does like to take risks but he understands that he can’t make every play or call on the field because that is why he hired the coaches for his team, and he in part is taking risk by having those coaches representing him. Jerry Jones also took a risk when bringing Bill Parcell’s back to coach the Dallas Cowboys in the 2003 season, and letting ParcellвЂ?s take care of business and handle the football team (Shropshire 27). It was a risk that Jerry Jones took but it paid off when Parcell’s was able to lead the Dallas Cowboys into the playoffs (Shropshire 133). The reason I see Jerry Jones as a hero is because he just gives the Cowboy fans a lot too cheer for, and he forces all rookies of the team to participate in local Dallas area charities or foundations to help them donate some of their time back to the community (“RoyвЂ?s Bio“ 1). To me it is a good thing for someone to be able to give back to the community and just to provide opportunities for people who need them.
