What Means Management?Chapter 1 Difference between manager and operative (employee) Managers direct the activities in company and overseeing the activities in the company, but operatives are responsible for task they are given. What means management? Management is the process of reaching goals through other people activities. Management comprises (sostoit) of PLANNING, ORGANIZING, LEADING and CONTROLING.Difference between efficiency and effectiveness?Efficiency refers to how well did you do something, and effectiveness refers to how useful it is. Four primary process of management.Planning (setting goals)Organizing (determining how these goals will be achieved) Leading (motivating employees)Controlling (observing the activities of others) Three levels of managers and their responsibilities.First line supervisors- they are responsible for directing day-to-day activities of employees.  Middle managers- are responsible for translating the goals set by the top management to the lower-managers so they could perform them. Top managers – are responsible for making decisions about the direction of the organization. Essential roles performed by managers. There are 3 primary roles:1) Interpersonal (leader, figurehead and liaison)2) Informational (monitor, spokesperson)
3) Decisional (negotiator, entrepreneur)Four general skills to become an managerConceptual (ability to analyze complex situations)Interpersonal (ability to work with and understand others)Technical (specialized knowledge) PoliticalValue of studying management? Managers have immediate access to information thay need. E-commerce – type of industry where the selling and buying product is happening in internet.E-business – improving your business using the technologies.
A new method could be to identify and make data. In a mobile app, the manager should have easy access on it in case the product is already in the market. It could be used in a computer game where the game contains a boss and a group of employees. This could be of importance because it will bring the group together to work at an event. It also could be used in a computer game where only individual employees can manage the game. This should be done so that the group will know where the boss is and know his personal style. So when a boss speaks with the boss, when a manager speaks with the person, the team will know where this personal style is going. These ideas could be used in games for example. Management does not have a data base, because the data is hidden. But he can be able to manipulate the data or to understand the data, so that he knows what the results mean. This process can be a way to create a better manager because a manager can understand and get the boss’s work done. The manager might not know how the data of the employees is presented. But he may know that the results mean different things than how the results are presented, because it is about the same data. But there should be some way to make this clearer if your company wants to take advantage of these new technologies and do business with them. In this section I talked about: The benefits of the new technology from the perspective of the individual. In more details about marketing and the companies marketing it could be: I looked at the top 5 managers who were successful in the first 5 years of the industry, and found that they were using the new technology to change the job processes. They changed everything (or at least made it easier. As expected). For the last 10 years a good percentage of the managers were using the new technology. And it has been growing very fast (see previous section). I hope you like it:
