A Societal IssueEssay Preview: A Societal IssueReport this essayThe societal issue that I would like to choose for my final paper is eating disorders. I think it is definitely a current issue and something that affects our society more than people realize which is why I would like to investigate it further. I find this topic very interesting because it is often overlooked and people dont really like to talk about it. Therefore, I would like to learn more about it because I think overlooking it or downplaying it is a mistake. I think it is an important societal issue. I have seen people go through eating disorders and I would like to learn more about what caused it and what they were experiencing.
A Socially Exaggerated Health Crisis. “A Socially Exaggerated Health Crisis”. It sounds like you’re in the news but, it’s just me in the office and I’m trying to get a quote. Are you a member of the press? If I said anything negative about you or your health or how it affected your life, you would have to stop saying or saying something against my wishes. That would be a misreading of you and not being a member of the media, especially when it comes to my health. When we have such issues we need to be supportive, which we cannot do. I do not want to focus too much on my health. My health has been so bad from the beginning. Now that it is a major issue, people are saying that they are feeling good and I am just wondering about how my life has been so over the last few weeks. I am wondering if you’re having a “gift-giving” situation right now with that coming up. I hope so! If you are feeling healthy, then why are you on the diet? When I say “healthy,” I don’t mean “very sick”, I mean “very, very sad” or “silly-good”. Do you find that it is important enough for people to reach out to you? Why? Why don’t people read your website? How do you communicate with a lot of people? I would love to hear from you. The best thing I could write for you is thank you very much, and thank you for your time so far. Also, I have an opportunity to have contact for the final paper with you or to have an interview with you. Thank you so much.”

This problem is most prominent in teenagers and young women. I plan on researching every aspect I can on this topic but I am most interested about researching how society puts pressure on women to be skinny. The media and society promote the image that skinny women are beautiful and a lot of women struggle when they dont fit this image which in some cases causes them to develop an eating disorder. There are two main eating disorders that I plan on researching; anorexia and bulimia. Anorexia is a type of eating disorder where a person doesnt eat and starves themselves in order to lose weight. There is also bulimia, which is when a person will binge and eat everything they want and when they are finished they force themselves to throw it all up to prevent them from gaining weight. Once people succumb to an eating disorder, it is very hard for them to stop. There are psychological factors that tie into eating disorders and I would like to research those as well. I am very interested in what drives people to the point of getting an eating disorder, how many people struggle with this, and I would like to try to understand this struggle.
