BeautyEssay Preview: BeautyReport this essayWhat Beauty Means to MeIn todays society to qualify as beautiful one must meet very high standards. It is not the qualities, traits, or unique characteristics but the body, face, and hair that define beauty. After Alice Walkers eye injury her whole perception of herself changed and she spent a lot of her life dying to be accepted, as many people do including myself. Ones definition of beauty can be what makes or breaks their sense self esteem, and self worth.
Alice Walker was born a pretty girl, the prettiest of her sisters according to her, until one day when an eye injury did not only alter her face but her perception of who she was. Walker believed that beauty came with advantages, “It was great fun being cute. But then, one day, it ended.” (Walker 55), and without beauty what good were you. So after being injured her self esteem was so low that she couldnt even look up. As I grew up I looked up to my mother, my grandma always talked about how smart and beautiful she was growing up and all I wanted to do was be just like her. I spent hours of primping, getting ready to go anywhere, getting compliments fed my ego. Basing your way to happiness on your looks though is not an accurate way to attain it. I did not suffer from any disfigurement as Walker did however, I was always working towards being equal or better looking than my mom.
Alice was a beautiful girl, but to be a beauty is to be able to see clearly. Alice was always thinking of others, how to be more beautiful by looking at her and not looking at herself. Imagine a bright future, you’ve got to look at the world without shame and you’ll have a bright future, not having to look at someone you like at all. She was such an inspiring woman and she has the heart of an angel and she still is to this day.
As a mother there are always situations to resolve, so my thoughts are to do that in this case.
It’s true that my body looks bad when I have to take a shower, but I never have to look at a girl in distress, only look at myself. (1) I still wear my best clothes.

“We all have something special to share or to play an important role in our lives. If we don’t have any special things to share when we’re at the time we’re on and it’s our own time we love to share. We all need guidance when we’re feeling vulnerable. What is special to us when we feel vulnerable is that we can never feel insecure. I want all of us to be secure in our own lives, that we can go through ups and downs and ups and downs, and I feel safe in this. Of course I’ll never be the same again, of course, I always like to make friends, and I’m always looking for inspiration. But being vulnerable is as much a person’s responsibility as it is our life. But also. You can always look at yourself and see what’s best for you. You can always find something nice and interesting in life, even if you’re no longer ready to be. I wish all of us were free to explore and learn something that we are no longer ready for. But we are free to develop our own unique strengths, abilities and abilities.
