The Lego Movie
AIS 2200     Wong Kwan Lok Kenneth(54065648)     Thinkpiece13In this lecture, we watched the last movie of this course – The Lego Movie. This movie is a 3D computer-animated adventure-comedy film released in 2014. Fortunately, all previous movies that shown in the lectures were those I haven’t watch it before. This movie as well, which I enjoyed it very much. This film is mainly talking about an ordinary Lego figure, which all figures live like human beings, accidentally becomes the one involved in fighting against the president business who plans to clue everything in the Lego world. This movie is actually fulfilled my dream in my childhood. When I was small, I like to play with Lego very much. Putting all pieces of Lego altogether would turn into meaningful objects, this helps to develop my creativity since I was around 5 years old. Lego is very expensive, so I treasure them a lot as I only allowed buying few boxes. Undoubtedly, I think most of the children who owns Lego would humanize the Lego characters. This movie somehow makes children’s dream became the reality, which is already worth watching. Besides, this movie also tells some meaningful things to inspire people. I think the main idea of this movie tells the audience that creativity is very important that everyone should have. Without our rooted perceptions to a particular object, Lego are just many pieces of plastic bricks. We can follow the instructions and rules to put the Lego into a building that shown on the Lego box. However, the most interesting to play with Lego is that Lego can become anything that we wanted to. We can make them as a tree, a car, a house etc. It provides us with millions of combinations, and it definitely requires our strong creativity. Therefore, I think another message that this movie would like to bring out is that we should not always being fixed or restricted to do what we are required to do. We should always think out of the box and make good use of our creativity to achieve our goals instead of just following the past-developed rules that leads you to success. There are always an alternative way for us and it depends how we make good use of our creative mind.
