The importance of being theoretical toward the development of my theoretical orientation is the basic concept for the foundation of my life philosophy and experiences in counseling. Before I begin in this phenomenon experiences in theoretical orientation, I will define what theoretical orientation is all about. However, theoretical orientation is a framework that is used by either a professional or student to understand client therapeutic needs (Halbur and Halbur, 2011). Additionally, theoretical orientation enable helpers with theory based work for generating hypothesis about a clients experience and behavior, formulating a rationale for a specific treatment intervention and evaluating therapeutic process (Halbur & Halbur, 2011).

Moreover, this paper will discuss some reasons why theoretical orientation is important, Halbur and Halburs personal experiences, my personality, my values, my phenomenological worldwide, development of my theoretical orientation, and the ten ways Halbur and Halbur described for finding theoretical orientation. In some cases, life course is always proposed as a theoretical orientation that is concerned with the problems of describing, understanding, generalizing, predicting, and intentionally changing the course of life (Runyan, 1978). However, that was Runyans view toward theoretical orientation.

Furthermore, the silent issue pertaining to the theory and practice of counseling or psychotherapy is making every theory practical. Also, Practical theory requires a method with increased self-knowledge and ends with techniques to help clients (Halbur & Halbur, 2011). Mostly, students often ask questions like what techniques do they have to apply toward their clients? These are all simple questions that always lead to simple answer. Its left for all students in helping profession to figure it out. Above all, this will generalize my personality, value, phenomenological worldwide, toward the development of my theoretical orientation and concluding remarks.
