Though there are many great things you could be doing rather than laying around or sitting around playing video games. Handhelds just make a great item to have at home. If you’re a parent seeking silence at home what better piece of equipment to buy than a handheld the problem now is choosing which is better for you. Though PSP and DS are bother equally great handhelds made for different individuals. One must be superior than the other to help decide which to choose.
When it comes to the PSP Sony is putting so much into such a little thing. The graphics of the PSP are capable of PS2 graphics. For now, they look more like first generation PS2 games, but maybe later in the future expect the graphics to become better. Also, aside from playing games you’ll be able to listen to tunes with a MP3 player and watch movies. While all of this seems great, all these functions will also absorb a lot of energy. Games will last around 8 to 10 hours while movies will only last for about 2.5 hours.
The first thing you’ll notice about the DS Lite is its double screens. The top one is a normal basic screen while the bottom will be a touch screen. The DS Lite is able to play games on a level higher than N64. From the screens, the games are also a bit blocky and so PSP is definitely better with graphics. Finally, the DS Lite does not have the same battery problem as PSP does. It has a battery life of about 10 to 12 hours of game play each time with the battery pack.
Even though the DS Lite is using many new ideas with the controls, the PSP is sticking with what works, the Playstation controller layout. On the right side of the screen, there is the basic circle, square, X, and O. Then on the left side of the screen is a short analog stick and on top of that, the d-pad. Then there are the basic right and left shoulder buttons on top of the machine. This gives a good transition for any ports of Playstation 1 or 2 games that may come to the PSP.
