Heather Money
Introduction
Heather Evans is a well-rounded, very determined individual. She was in the top 15% of her class and on the Dean’s list every semester at Harvard Business School. She worked as a fashion model for a few years and then worked for Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. as a Financial Analyst. She then proceeded to work as the assistant to the president to a designer clothing-manufacturing firm. During her last job she decided that she would do well designing her own line of designer women’s business wear.
She began creating her business during her last couple semesters at Harvard. She had to commute from New York City to school every week to be able to do it. Her dream was to create a line of business attire that would look good and fit the needs of businesswomen better then the suits that were currently available. Her background in fashion taught her that she would have to constantly come up with new designs for every season to keep customers happy and fashionable. So she knew she would need some help. The first person she hired was an assistant designer with an impressive background in design. Then she got to work on selling her company idea to investors.
Problem Analysis
Her biggest challenge seems to be getting the finances to start up her company. She had a lot of trouble convincing investors that she was serious and that her business would succeed long enough for them to make a profit off the loan. She is also having a hard time coming up with a proposal that will make the investors happy without handing over her new company to them. Another major problem is that she wants to start in time for the winter fashion season but it will take too long to get her business started in order to be ready by the winter season.
Heather Evans has amazing faith in her company. She has spent almost $20,000 of her own money to pay rent, her assistant
