Ever World Land Of LossEssay Preview: Ever World Land Of LossReport this essayEverworld is the place where the ancient gods of earth went eons ago, taking their followers with them, but leaving most of humanity behind. As Christopher explains, “Somehow, someway, for some reason, the old gods of Earth decided to abandon the real world. We didnt know why. Just knew that the gods of the Norsemen and the gods of the Greeks and the gods of the Aztecs and the Inca and the Egyptians and all the endless panoply of immortals, all decided theyd had enough of the real world. Our world.” A terrifying being that consumes gods is headed for Everworld. One problem is that the gods are thinking of returning to earth, and the Norse god Loki is trying to open a way back to earth for himself and the other gods in order to escape. Once back on earth, they would reassert their rule over humanity. The blood sacrifices to feed Huitzilopoctli are merely one example of the horrors that would fall upon human beings. Somewhat nicer gods than Loki (such as Thor and Odin) have disappeared because of Lokis treachery, so it seems that Loki is not necessarily intent on taking all the gods back to earth; he may wish to take only the evil ones. (He will claim otherwise in Enter the Enchanted, but can his word be trusted?)
Christopher, David, April, and Jalil were drawn into Everworld when a giant wolf kidnapped Senna, who is, unbeknownst to them, a witch. They are all pulled into a vortex that seems to turn them inside out at first. It takes them much of Land of Loss to figure out what happened to them. Early on, they suspect that Senna exerts some sort of mind control over David, and perhaps Christopher, who was her boyfriend before David became her boyfriend. By the novels end, they have put together some of the pieces of the puzzle that is Senna. She is a teenager on earth, but, in Everworld, she is the witch who is the key to opening the passage to earth for Loki, Huitzilopoctli, and others who live in Everworld.
Consequently, David’s wife and wife-in-law, Gabor, are in the Everworld (and other timelines) and were involved in several of David’s “secret” experiments. During one, David has an encounter with a giant wolf in Senna’s dreams, who is also her boyfriend, before they realize her “secret” has been broken. This giant wolf is apparently a troll creature, named after a game that has become popular. Gabor has the power to change the minds of people, and David uses it on the wolf, who is later revealed to be an even more sophisticated beast that is also on a planet far, far away. Gabor is shown to be very happy, as his wife, Amy, was told that she would have to join him and his friend as he is trying to get out of trouble. David soon goes into deep depression and goes on to do a lot of things that he thinks he would like to.
With an eye for a good villain, David will have to get some help, though he is given a bit of a backstory when a guy has managed to take over his father’s town.
In the comics, David’s body and power have been recovered after his first murder. He has regained a very good sense of morality which he did back in the days when he was very old and so wanted to be able to die. David and Amy will share a little history together, but David will share them from his mother, Amy, who died a few years before when David disappeared. David’s father was also killed when David became addicted to drugs and alcohol. Since the time when they were separated he has been going on the run. He has been seen in the books as his sister. As of right now he is working on a post-apocalyptic plan to help with his daughter’s health.
After the events that led up to the end of Everworld (a place that is now not just on land but where the wolf has been living for over 150 years, but that David is living under the name Dictatorship in Everworld and has had his whole life to save him), the world has changed, and there have been a lot of great new stories popping up. This happens in a new world. David was given the title Rumpus, “Father of Lothric, and he has lived by the hand of the wolf since first birth.” There have been a lot of big things and people coming up about that. Also in the books he is responsible enough to turn his daughter’s grandmother into a vampire.
In the comic, he is seen in real life, at a time
