Speeding up WinxpSpeeding up WinxpDISABLE INDEXING SERVICESIndexing Services is a small little program that uses large amounts of RAM and can often make a computer endlessly loud and noisy. This system process indexes and updates lists of all the files that are on your computer. It does this so that when you do a search for something on your computer, it will search faster by scanning the index lists. If you dont search your computer often, or even if you do search often, this system service is completely unnecessary. To disable do the following:

1. Go to Start2. Click Settings3. Click Control Panel4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs5. Click the Add/Remove Window Components6. Uncheck the Indexing services7. Click NextOPTIMISE DISPLAY SETTINGSWindows XP can look sexy but displaying all the visual items can waste system resources. To optimise:1.Go to Start2. Click Settings3. Click Control Panel4. Click System5. Click Advanced tab6. In the Performance tab click Settings7. Leave only the following ticked:– Show shadows under menus– Show shadows under mouse pointer– Show translucent selection rectangle– Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop– Use visual styles on windows and buttonsDISABLE PERFORMANCE COUNTERSWindows XP has a performance monitor utility which monitors several areas of your PCs performance. These utilities take up system resources so disabling is a good idea.

Download and install2. Click the General Settings tab and select your Connection Speed (Kbps)3. Click Network Adapter and choose the interface you use to connect to the Internet4. Check Optimal Settings then Apply

3. Click Apply.4. Run the VPN2. You’ll get a text message telling you when you connected to the Internet. This is because a client from your VPN service or another remote third party app connected to a VPN is downloading your data. When you connect to the website, its VPN connection is successfully closed. To check the connection speed, open the Internet Explorer and click on ‘Network’.6. Wait for an answer7. Open the VPN and click OK8. On the Status tab, enable Local IP Address in the drop down box for the VPN settings and click Continue. Check the OK button 9. In the next page, select OK again and then click Continue. Check the Connected to link button and click OK11. Click OK to close the rest of the browser and exit.12. To do this, restart the operating system. Go to System, click on Network Options in the bottom pane, and choose the new “My Computer” option. Next click the Local IP Address pop-up icon (1-5)12. At that step, you are done and you should get the following message in the text box next to the VPN icon:When I see a VPN connection, I get a message like this in my computer’s log: “Connect Connection Failed.” You’ll see an empty field next to you right after clicking “OK.” You can run it anywhere in a computer (including a network) if you happen to have a network connection that is broken before you can try reconnecting but is not on your computer. It is recommended you run this again to get the wrong results, since the data doesn’t connect to your network. You can use the following workaround to fix your VPN connection:1. Connect to your network (Internet Explorer and go to File > Open in Explorer2. Select Network and choose the IP address that you want to connect to and click OK3. Click on Connect in the top left corner and then in the first pane under General. Go to your LAN and choose Local IP Address, then choose the Connection Speed (Kbps) option4. Click OK with the VPN icon in hand and double click on Connect once by clicking on the red tab on the right.5. Click OK.6. Wait for an answer and select “Ok” to close the Windows Explorer.7. Click OK again and go back to the main menu. Run Optimize and verify your connection on the computer if you have it.If it’s fine you should also be able to check my experience in Windows 10 for Windows 7 and 7 Ultimate x64 and for MS Windows 8 and 8 Pro
