Solo Hop Throughout the years, generations were imprisoned by society’s approval declaring a certain look or dress attire. Now, with the brand Solo Hop, any male individual can become a unique person rather than an identical collection assigned by others whom believe a certain look or dress attire is the way of life. Solo Hop is a brand that sells clothing for males who challenge society’s rules. This advertisement is incorporated in Maxim’s magazines, which targets single men between the ages of twenty and fifty (Maxim 10). This magazine is being sold on cable television or stores and to music production for their audience to pay attention to the views of their magazine (Launder 1). As a result of where the magazine is being sold, Maxim’s mission statement for their audience claims that it “creates a richly visual journey that’s part fantasy, part aspiration and part attainable for the millennial man who believes that everything worth doing is worth overdoing” (Maxim 2).By emphasizing colors and the concept of overpowering the world‘s laws of perfections, my advertisement revises masculinity in a more cultural yet stylish relation, aiming to show Solo Hop is an expanding brand with Maxim that differentially and materialistically supports their business by separating individuals from becoming a clone into an original or “one-of-a-kind” person. Though the empowerment of a male is used here, my advertisement is reforming how viewers see male’s empowerment as breaking away from society’s approval. Many; a plethora of individuals can claim that society desire between females and males to play the role of craving to belong. During the years of cultural traditions, Giordanom said, “People were constantly forced to act and feel a certain way, but society displays how their youth should behave” (1). This could have a negative outcome for people, but a positive outcome for the society. Mostly women are targeted by Hollywood’s models and stars by applying that women should show more skin, make-up, and plastic surgery to obtain the desire of belonging. Truly, women are a tool to just be shown as dolls whom ravel their body. Similar to women, males go through the same situation on finding themselves, but becoming someone who is not them and is covered by society’s demands. As a result, people are playing into society’s schemes that will never cease, unless people take a stand against it. While the message is clear, the colors need to consulates to the idea. Creating a message with words is one thing, but showing visuals is a different story. The colors used in my advertisement ties into the meaning of the product and idea. I used cool, warm, and additional shades to create a masterpiece of fantasy. On the first page of my advertisement, everything is in black, gray, and white setting suggesting a negative connotation or grief. On the second page of my advertisement, there are warm, cool, and other colors places only on the male and the logo. The logo displays mostly warm colors that fade into warm colors. The top part of the logo’s colors was represented as this: green meant freshness; blue purposed confidence, loyalty, and wisdom, and purple aimed nobility, independence, and creativity (Parker 1). Then, while following the top part of the logo easing into the bottom part, it fades into warms colors that is signified as this: red targets energy, power, and determination; yellow aimed attention and honor, and orange intended happiness, joy, encouragement, and success (Parker 1). As these are just the warm and cool colors, the other colors need to be explained also. The other colors are black, white, gold, and silver placed into the logo and the man located on the side of it. The color black shifted from the description of misery of both the man and woman (on the first page) into power (Parker 1) for only the man and the product’s logo (on the second page). The woman stayed in the black and white setting because she did not desire the freedom from society‘s approval. On the second page with the man, the color white indicated coolness (Parker 1) into the man’s style and his choice to change from the collections of dolls; while on the first page it showed the mind of innocent “children” that want their approval from society like “their mother or father”. While the colors gold and silver indicated a dreamer (Joyce 1) than craves for more than a normal person can imagine. As the colors of the images explains the twine of the message, the viewers need to focus on the couple. My advertisement shows a couple that appears to be in the darkness. On the first page, the woman is pleased while the man is depressed in the shadows of despair. While observing them, one can see that they are wearing today’s clothing that includes booty shorts, shirts that shows a person’s stomach and arms, and ripped jeans. Even though they are in a relationship, they are also showing off the attire of society’s approval. While in this place of darkness, the woman is smiling with a shirt that has “Blame Society” in a black, bold font on the front of it. This woman shows that she has accepts society and their clothing to be called the words “beautiful or hot or sexy”. While the man on the side of the woman is clearly displaying clothes that are accepted by society, but he is depressed while having on this clothing that suggest how society is not worth it to become someone that is defined as handsome in the world’s opinion. I show this in the first page on my advertisement to suggest how people believe this is a delightful way to carry out their lives in the society’s hand. As the first page indicates a sorrowful place, the second page displays something different.
