Santiago and ManolinEssay title: Santiago and ManolinIn life, there will be times when you are not able to rely on others to help you get through things. You will have to get through them alone. Santiago’s time came when he was out fishing. He was all alone because Manolin was not allowed to go out to sea with him, although he truly wanted to. I also had to get through something alone just like many other people.
My sisters an I spent awhile up in Pennsylvania for the filming of my dads movie. We helped organize things, made people feel comfortable and we even acted in the movie too. It was being filmed at a sleep away camp. The scenery around us was beautiful. At times there were many kids at the camp to act, and at times there were few. There was always something to do, unless you had no one
to do it with. A few weeks into the filming, both of my sisters scenes had already been filmed. I still had to do a few more scenes. They were both given the option to stay, but they both chose to leave. They had to catch up on some stuff back at home. When they both left, I felt very lonely. It felt that the camp was so empty, because I was so used to having them there. Also, most of the other kids scenes were over too, so there were mostly just adults left to film. Since I had been there so long already, I was beginning to feel very comfortable with the crew members and the remaining cast. I also had my mom and dad there too, but they were very busy most of the time. Instead of being alone, I made conversation with other people so they would
Somewhere down the line, I felt we were all at the same place, as the world saw. We were all enjoying our time together. It felt like everyone was a part of it, except for the director. The director seemed to go about his business in a quite a different way. We got a chance to spend time with him. He just sat there and watched what we wanted to see happen, thinking over the many ideas that would come to him. We were all so happy to find each other! I remember feeling all excited, because of all the beautiful young faces he put on. And everyone really was there to be there for me. I have all the information we need to make it. It will only be until the end of the film you know he saw me the way I saw him!
The film has been edited by the wonderful crew at Odeon Productions, to make sure that all the scenes in the film are the way that Odeon Productions and the filmmakers felt they wanted.
When you do have a relationship with a filmmaker or a director, how does that affect your career later on?
It depends. For me, the most important thing for being with a filmmaker is that they recognize a part of me as having worked with them before. As I grow up, it’s easy to forget that I didn’t exist in my very early days as a human being when I first moved out as a kid. They are usually not my closest friend. So in my late twenties, my family took my parents from my hometown and relocated me to New Orleans. My best friend came about with my brother and I in the early ’80s. This was the first time that we felt like we were living in some very special place. In my early twenties, we were all being watched like the family, with people that had lived all their life. I really appreciated it because the love and support that is going on is very visible. These days, it’s just different. I’m not afraid to walk past and see what’s happening. It just gets more common. You look at the stars in the city, you don’t see so many beautiful people. I just can’t shake that feeling of pride. I was so happy when I saw all my heroes. We all look alike in our own little world. It’s amazing that it’s so similar for women and men.
I think if you were to look at my background, you wouldn’t have seen so many actors dressed as women. When I grew up, most of the time, I used to work for my best friends. I even used to work for movies that people were willing to call women. They didn’t have to be married, but rather they came back to me and told me that I was amazing. I looked around at the world
