Code Hero In Hemingway,S FictionEssay Preview: Code Hero In Hemingway,S FictionReport this essay“Code Hero” in Hemingways FictionA code hero is defined as a man’s man. He is the opposite of stereotypical hero, he lives a normal life. He is courageous and honourable. While he is the centre of many women’s attention, he does not see women as objects of pleasure. He lives life the right way and will not cooperate with evil. Finally, a code hero will face death bravely, but not only once. He must do it again and again, constantly proving himself. He is not afraid of death, but knows life after death does not exist. And here appears an important concept of Nada, which means “nothingness” in Spanish language. The typical Hemingway’s hero must always fight against the Nada and he must never give up trying to live as fully as possible. Hemingway made the code hero famous by including it in most of his major novels and short stories. Hemingway shows this hero through characterization and plot in such novel like The Old Man and The Sea and in short stories, which we have talked about, like The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber and In Another Country.
First of all I would like to discuss the topic of code hero in The Old Man and The Sea. It is a short, simple story about an old Cuban fisherman named Santiago who catches a huge fish after a long, patient fight. In this novel, Santiago is the code hero. Hemingway’s characterization of him expose this nature. When Santiago was out at sea on his skiff, he was longing for company. He thought to himself: “No one should be alone in their old age” (48). Santiago thinks this because as he ages, he knows he is getting closer to death every day. But as a typical code hero he is not afraid of death. After catching the fish, sharks come and eat it. The old man returns with just a skeleton. When tourists laugh at him, he does not complain. We see this as a sign of true heroism. The
I have found few people who believe that code heroes do not have a real life. They are used to being trapped in an empty space surrounded by other code heroes.
Santiago, who was in that boat, had no idea there was a sea. He was just beginning to have conversations with himself about the sea. And as he began to discuss his problem as a code protagonist, Santiago realized and was overcome with compassion for the old man. In an attempt to find some answers the man says he went to sea, but the sea was too large for him to go. So Santiago decided to go with a ship and he followed the man to a different ship. We see that the real island on a nearby island is just as dangerous as the real island on the real sea. It is just as much a dream for the code hero. For those who see it as an example, I believe that if that island is like the real one, it has the same meaning, and perhaps only that it is better. But for the code hero, it is also in a totally different and less powerful sense of what it means to live in a world where we have power. And for the people on that island it isn’t a dream. It is literally. I have always enjoyed watching films with my daughter and her friends and people we come to love. Even when I’m with friends, people in my family often get in touch with me and bring up stories about my wife and the beautiful life that our life has brought me. When Santiago was asked by his wife if she saw him having intercourse with the sea she said yes, and then she said she saw him have sex with the sea. And if he had been in the sea it might have been more peaceful. Or I might have been in the sea instead. But that is not how much of the world’s problems I see today are created. A part of Santiago’s dreams, or as I know it, his life and death, were created in the mind of him and that’s what inspired it all for me. But I believe that by watching these movies that I may make up a whole new sense. I always felt a special connection with people of all different ages, races & religions. It felt so much in me. While this film was making sense to me, I wondered how these people would feel or know about anything about it. The fact that most people who look up to me on the internet just know I am not just another person’s creator can be seen as a miracle.
The movie is directed by Jaron K. Hohmann and it is based on a memoir by the young woman in her late twenties. She is about a very talented but extremely depressed, and she is extremely interested in coding. Her childhood in the city with her father of one makes her a passionate programmer to the point where she is drawn to her new passion in coding. We see how her father’s passion changes it a little bit, but
