Many times, mergers are not successful and end in failure from poorly managed human resource issues. The HR manager of AT&T has an opportunity before the merger to ensure that both companies have strategy mapped out in advance. The employees may have different views or beliefs; managerial styles or system of operations. The HR manager can help unify the culture of both companies by developing a list of steps to manage important HR issues. AT&T is one of worlds largest communications companies that provides jobs for 243,620 employees. In 2013, the company reached $128.8 billion in consolidated revenue. AT&T manages the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network, carrying 82.8 petabytes of data traffic on an average business day to nearly every continent and country.
